There is true wisdom found in the book of Psalms. Not just for people of the old covenant, but for us in the new covenant also. God has not changed in how he wants us to act as His true believers. Therefore, as you read the following verses, take it to heart and actually do as the Lord says. David wrote, “keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” (Psalm 34:13-15) And so we repent of all evil in our lives. This can be giving up every form of 1 witchcraft (Wicca, magic cards, and more), 2 sexual immorality (fornication, adultery, pornography, homosexuality, and more), 3 murder (abortion, being involved in a homicide, and more), 4 drunkenness (the bar scene, drinking at parties, drugs, and more), 5 idolatry (worshipping idols, saints, angels, or Mary, believing in other gods, wanting to become a god, and putting other things before God). 6 stealing, 7 coveting, 8 lying. Sin is evil and needs to be confessed to God immediately. Only then will He cut them out of our hearts and minds. The Lord is so merciful.
God’s eyes have departed from the wicked, but they are upon those who are made righteous in His sight. You may say to yourself, but I have been addicted to such and such substance or thing and I have tried everything to cut it loose for many years. But What about God, have you let Him cut it out? If you do one thing for Him, then your life will change. Begin to read the Bible daily, while cutting out any TV, movies, or video games that do not glorify God. Doing this and praying often will change your life. Instead of hoping to be better for God, He will take you by the hand and set you free in His kingdom. Remember what David said when he wrote, “the face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” (Psalm 34:16-18) Therefore, cry out to God in all your sins. Don’t say to yourself, “I will repent and get right with God when I am older”, for now is that time. Jesus died for your sins, but you must submit to Him for His blood to cover you. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will repent of their sins and no longer be willful sinners. You hear our cries but also look for people who are contrite in spirit and humble for You to work in. I just wonder how many people are sincere in their prayers or are continuing in prayers that are recited and not thought about. You have taught us to pray, but people have taken this way to far in reciting your prayers, Jesus, instead of learning about how to pray. Lord, I offer my life to You in all the sincerity of my heart. Take a hold of my life and don’t allow the enemy to have any part of who I am. I choose to live for You and not the world. Hear my cries and know that I am sorry for my sins. You have heard my confessions and I am grateful for Your forgiveness and grace. Have your way in my life. Use me for Your kingdom. Help me to reach people for Your kingdom. When I have tried to reach people in my own flesh, I have been unsuccessful, but when I have reached people with the Holy Spirit, there are many seeds planted in people’s hearts. My life is Yours. Use me for Your glory. I love You, Jesus. I give You praise and honor. You are my God and I will worship You all my days. Amen.
