The differences between testimonies in Mormonism are so different than a testimony of a former Mormon. Now, for you to hear the differences, let’s see the side of a Mormon and an ex-Mormon for Christ as if they got up in church to bear their testimony. You may hear the following…
From a Devout Mormon:
I bear my testimony that Joseph Smith is a true prophet. That Russell M. Nelson is our prophet today and leads and guides our church. I follow the prophet in order to not be led astray. The book of Mormon is true and the most correct book on earth. That we need temples today in order to be married for all eternity and to see how loved ones in heaven. Even to give people of other churches and people who never knew Jesus to enter heaven through baptisms for the dead. That the priesthood of God is in only in this church, and that we act through this priesthood with God’s authority on earth. This is the true church, even the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Amen.
From a Former Mormon:
I bear witness that Joseph Smith is a false prophet and that we have no more need for prophets to lead God’s church. Jesus is already leading it. The Bible is God’s Word and the Book of Mormon and other so-called scriptures are false. We are the temple of God and have no need for physical buildings. There are no second chances after death, like baptisms for the dead tries to make people believe there is. We are married for this life, but in heaven, Jesus is our bride. I pray that people accept Christ and become part of God’s family in heaven. Only Jesus holds the priesthood, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is of the devil. Only Jesus saves, not religion. I am so grateful that He saved a wretch like me. Amen.
We are not led by prophets, but Jesus alone:
“The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.” (Luke 16:16)
“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son.” (Hebrews 1:1,2)
The Bible is God’s Word:
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
We are the temple of God and God does not dwell in temples made with hands:
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (2 Corinthians 6:14-16)
“God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands.” (Acts 17:24)
Marriage in this life is until death. After this life, Jesus is our bride:
“And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.” (Luke 20:34-36)
“For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:2)
Only Jesus holds the priesthood, not man:
“now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law.” (Hebrews 8:1-4)
There are no second chances come death:
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (Hebrews 9:27,28)
Only Jesus saves:
“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Timothy 2:3-6)
Let us pray:
Come Lord and rest awhile with me. Hear my prayers and do a work inside of me that has never been done before. Thank You for saving a wretch like me. I truly don’t deserve Your forgiveness and mercy, but You have shown it just the same. I was lost in the Mormon church for many years of my life, but then You came and rescued me. I may not be with my wife as a married couple in heaven, but am grateful that in heaven it will be one big family, even with You as our bride. There is so much room left in heaven for those who will come unto You in faith, while repenting of their sins and denouncing every false teaching. This is a very hard thing to do, especially giving up false beliefs, but is so worth it. I now know that there are no second chances after death, for after we die comes the judgment. You are our judge, Jesus. Only You hold the keys to the priesthood and the keys to my heart. I worship You, Jesus. You are my God and I give You praise. I adore You and extol Your Name. I love You. Amen.
