When people follow Jesus, they also love what He loves and hate what He hates. We don’t hate people, but false beliefs, worldly things that are evil, and more. Our family is so important to us also. Even my children make me so happy when I see them walk in the ways of the Lord. John saw this similarity when he said, “the elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in a the truth. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” (3 John 1:1-4) Amen.
What we do for the Lord, our family, people in the church, and outsiders, we treat them all with respect and love. Charity becomes who we are, for doing good is what Jesus does through His believers. We do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. Bringing lost souls to the Lord brings us so much joy. John also said, “beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.” (3 John 1:5-8) Amen and amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray not only for me, but for every person in Your church today. That You would keep us strong to resist temptation. Help us to remain faithful to You. I know that I am not the only person who needs Your help, for we all do. If people just knew what You could do for them, then they would also be calling on Your Name for guidance and direction. Do I know all things? No. I need You to help me, in order to know anything useful in this world. Things are very bleak, especially with Covid and the vaccine mandates right now. Only You can lead me, my family, and other faithful followers in the truth. Joy can only come from You and nowhere else. I am also so joyful when my children are seeking You in prayer, the Bible, and doing Your will. This brings a big smile on my face. You’ve done it all Jesus. I believe in You. I trust in You. I love You, Lord. Amen.
