For this message in 1 Corinthians, chapter 6, I will admit something to you all. That based on the list of things that will cause a person to go to hell, I pray that God never gives up on me because of the things I have done in life. I would never want to be cast off into the lake of fire when I die and am judged. Yes, friends, I fear hell and pray to God that when my life is all set and done that I am worthy to be with the Lord in heaven. He knows my heart at the moment, and I pray that even if I was to die now, that the Lord’s mercy would be upon me. Now, for you to understand the gravity of the situation at hand, read with me, starting with verse 9. It reads, “know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9,10) People may think they are right with God until they read those verses. It is because they have done or are still doing something from the list above right now. And what happens to such people who are given the name of the sins above? They are not saved, and will not go to heaven. This should terrify people to think they are on the pathway to hell right now as we speak. It is for this reason that I die daily in the flesh. I am not perfect, but repent and turn from my sins when I do fall. I pray this is your heart also.
It would be terrible to know that God has already labeled me as unrighteous and wicked in His sight. And I pray that this thought would startle you also, in order for you to also turn to Him and confess your sins. The Lord God is waiting, my friends. He doesn’t wish for anyone to go to hell, but for all to be saved and go to heaven. It is just up to the person to turn from their sins and follow Jesus. I have made this decision, have you? One thing I know is that sexual sin has gotten a hold of me many times, and I know that this very type of sin is causing millions of people to go to hell. That is why Paul continued and said, “know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.” (1 Corinthians 6:15-18) We are to not defile our bodies, and if we do, we need to repent as soon as possible, for tomorrow is not promised. Flee from porn. Flee from lust. Flee from sex outside of marriage and all other forms of sexual sin. In closing, hell is the most terrifying place of all. It even terrifies me to even think about it. That is why I pray for forgiveness daily. It is up to Jesus to forgive us as sinners, so we come unto Him for mercy.
Sinner’s Prayer:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will forgive me a sinner. Help me to look to You in faith at all times and in all places. You know what I have done today, this week, and this month, and I am so sorry for not faithfully following You. You know my heart and I could have looked to You more so than I have, in order to resist the temptations of the evil one. I followed in the ways of the flesh and I am sorry. Even the things I thought were done in secret were not done in secret at all. I hurt You, Lord. You trusted in me and I failed You. Forgive me. Have mercy upon my soul. For all the things I have done, remove the stains in my heart. Also remove every bad memory of the past, that I might go forward in faith. Lead me out of darkness and into Your abundant light. Keep me safe from the enemy. I trust in You, Lord. You are my God, and I will follow You. Help me throughout my life and don’t allow me to go off course again. It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit will be with me from here on out. I am listening to You now and will do as You say. I know that the Bible is Your Holy Word and will read and follow its precepts. Your words are a lamp unto my feet and I will keep it close to my heart daily. Then, will I stay in right standing, not of men, but by You, God. I love You, Lord. I praise Your holy Name, Jesus. Amen.
