Our Life In Christ Brings Joy

Our true source of love in this world comes not in the things that we obtain, but through Jesus Christ, our Lord. There is no one like His love for us, for it fills our souls with joy that never ends. If you are walking in the Spirit now, then you know full well that God is with you, while bringing you the happiness that your soul requires. However, if you are walking in the flesh while going after your own desires, then the opposite can be said, for your joy only comes in the moment. Therefore, our faith in Christ is so important, for it leads us on the path of righteousness. Now, when it comes to our faith, Peter said it this way, 1“that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” (1 Peter 1:7-9) This is true to those that believe in Jesus for salvation, however, it is not true for those that just say they believe and then willfully sin. This is because the power of God is not in them. Therefore, they continue to walk in darkness, while God waits for them to come to Him in repentance.

When it comes to having true faith in Christ and walking it out, those that are faithful to the Lord God are the ones that really understand this. Peter spoke of such people, while saying, 1“who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1 Peter 1:5) Therefore, it is important to know where your joy is coming from. If it is found in the Lord, then you are well on your path to heaven, for you are saved, but if it is found in the world, then you are on the path of destruction, of which God is calling you home each day. For this reason, people of faith ought to repent allow God to make them different for His sake. We are then able to walk differently and start doing a work in His kingdom. In this obedience to God, we are no longer the same person as before, since we’ve decided to walk in the Spirit and not after our flesh any longer. Our old way of doing things is done away with. This is when forgiveness and mercy are made known by God. Since He’s heard our confessions and knows that we are willing to forsake our sins. This brings cleansing through the blood of Jesus, of which He paid the price for on the cross. This was done, as Peter said, 1“with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (1 Peter 1:19)

So those of faith are able to change their wicked ways not by their own strength, but by trusting in the Lord. Then, they gain the strength to fight against temptation. And over time, our will to be like God becomes who we are. Peter said it this way, become 1“as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:14-16) Now, don’t expect yourself to become this way on your own, for it is impossible. However, with the Holy Spirit in our lives, we are able to live differently. This is because the power of God is now moving in us and not the flesh. If there is any willful sin in our life still, we willingly give it all to the Lord, our God. We know it will only grieve the Spirit in our lives, so we are willing to get rid of such things. Now, Pater spoke on how this is all possible here, 1“seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” (1 Peter 1:22,23) Therefore, continue reading the Bible daily and pray often. This way, God will be with you and your love will shine forth.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray for healing in people’s lives that have suffered long enough because of addictions and other willful sins. May they find healing from these scars in their lives, that they may be redeemed. Take them by the hand, of God, and help them walk into your light. Then, will they escape the darkness that they are in now and feel Your great love for them. Your joy can be made full in their lives, if they would just learn to seek You out daily and not the flesh any longer. Surely, the devil has left a sour taste in their mouths, over these many years, for things that their flesh desires, but never found the fullness of joy in, only sorrow. This is because only You can show people what true love looks like. We don’t have to live a life with guilt, shame, depression, sadness, pain, or sorrow, for all these things are able to be washed away through Your blood. It is because You paid the price for our sins already, that You are now waiting for people to come unto You. Then, can they receive the cleansing and healing that they need to be saved. Nobody deserves to have an unhappy life and I speak gladness, joy, happiness, love, kindness, comfort, and peace into every person’s life that is broken now, in the name of Jesus. Renew them in the Spirit, oh Lord. Hear their prayers and the prayers of the saints for their lives. Help them turn from their sins, that they may begin to walk in holiness, as You are holy. I believe in You, Lord. No one is like You. For this reason, I give You the glory and the praise. You are the reason why I have joy and why it is full. Thank You, Lord. I love You. Amen.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
