It has always been in God’s nature that we find true happiness while in this life and the next. He also knows that on our own, we will continually fall short. In doing so, sin enters our life and we become unworthy in His presence. For this reason, He asks that we hearken unto His commands. Only by doing so, will we be safe. Our own hearts desires are wicked and for this reason we need the Holy Spirit to guide us. If you are following the Lord and doing His will, you won’t help but give Him praise. The goodness of God will be felt in your daily walk. If you are redeemed, then 1“sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.” Sing songs of thanksgiving for the new life you have been given. Give praise to the One who gives new life. I pray that this is your life but if it isn’t then listen now to God’s counsel. No longer boast in your wisdom and luxuries of life but humble yourself before God. God says, 1“Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me; There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.” Don’t let these words fall onto deaf ears. God attempts to intercede in yours and other people’s lives, however, most people ignore His promptings. God says, 1“my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.” Pretty much if people don’t desire to listen to God then they also don’t have to go to heaven either.
Paul also taught on the people that don’t listen to God’s counsel. He said, 2“God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” You can see that when people aren’t following God’s commands that their own ideas of what is right and wrong get twisted. Even homosexuality seems OK to someone in sin, if they don’t have God in their life. However, there will be due punishment for those that don’t repent and heed the commandments of God. Those that trample on God’s laws will be dealt with harshly. Now is the time to repent or else the wrath of God will be felt. Speaking of the people that don’t repent, Paul said, 2“Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” Worthy of death means a life worthy to be cast forever out of God’s presence. This spells doom and forever being tormented in the fiery depths of hell. Repent and come to God if this is your life. 3“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” You know the way, and that is through Christ Jesus. Now do as He commands.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray for all sinners. Wake them up to their sins, this day. Wake up the prideful that they may be humbled. Wake up those that are in the grips of sexual sin and lust, that they may be rescued from their sins. Wake up the homosexuals that they may know the dangers of their sin. Help them know that such people have no right into heaven. That what they are doing is pure evil in Your sight. Wake up all fornicators and adulterers. Help them know that this lifestyle is wicked and abominable, as well, before You. Break the chains that have these people bound. I know that holiness is in You, Lord, and all sin will have no part in Your kingdom. Help those that desire to know You, to also be made aware of their sinful lifestyle. Your counsels are good and I pray that we may all hearken unto your desires in our lives. I don’t want anything filthy to deter me from Your presence. Take all my lustful desires from my heart. Help me to walk in Your ways. I love You more. Amen.
