We don’t know the time of our death. But we do know that our destination will one day be set in stone. Either heaven or hell is where we will go, depending upon the choices we had made, while in this life. If we were followers of Christ, then we would have heeded God’s will and did as Solomon said here, 1“let thy garments be always white”. Please understand that living for the world tarnishes our garments. We may not see it now but once the Holy Spirit convicts our hearts of where we stand before God, we won’t help but call upon Him and confess our sins openly. We will no longer live in sin but repent. This will ultimately lead us to live a different life. A life that is full of love and wisdom, through God’s Word. And through prayer, God’s answers are made known. Solomon speaks of this lifestyle and says, 1“whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Don’t just learn but seek to find and then do something with that knowledge. What God has given you, do it well. Take what He gives and run with it. For after your time comes, these same opportunities will no longer be available. If you squandered the time God gave you, then His wrath is upon you.
The life we have been given from God is not meant to be dull but instead, full of life. If you think that being a Christian means not having fun in life, then you are mistaken. Following Jesus and doing His will is the happiest times we will ever experience in life. So if you are single, stay strong in the Lord and if you are seeking, then He will lead you to the person whom you should marry. And if you are married, then seek to always show him or her love and respect. This will lead to a happier and more fulfilling marriage. Solomon spoke about this, when he said, 1“live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life.” Isn’t this such a great thing to think about. What is missing in most marriages? It is love. And if you abide in God’s love, your marriage will be turned from death to life overnight. Love is what moves people. Lastly, these opportunities will not always come. As we all know death is at our doorsteps. So cherish the person that you are with. For, as Solomon said, 1“man also knoweth not his time.” And speaking of those people that do pass on, it 1“falleth suddenly upon them.” So seek God in His Word and prayer always and you will be ready when death does come. Heaven and hell is real and your destination is based on your choices to believe and follow Jesus Christ.
Let us pray:
Lord God, help those that are struggling in life, find peace. Give them rest, that they may come to an understanding of their lives. I know that there are so many people living for this world and it is only Your love that will awaken them to their sins. This knowledge can be passed on to them through people but Your Spirit is what convicts them of their wrongs. What is tarnished will be brought to light, that these people may come out of darkness and into Your light. May these people be humble enough to hear You out and act upon their convictions. I pray that a revival happens in their hearts that they may finally turn from what is wicked and seek what is righteous. So come and cut lose all the shame and guilt from their hearts and resurrect their souls today. Lead the lost to Your love. Help them experience the joy that comes from You. Our time is short and for that I pray that people will turn to You, God, before their time is over. May there be no regrets but thanks to God for Your forgiveness and grace. Thank You Lord for saving me. Your blood has set me free. I love You. In the holy Name, Jesus. Amen.

1Ecclesiastes 9:8,9 (KJV)
8 Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.
9 Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
12 For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.
