If any of you say you believe in Jesus but also mention that you can just continue 1to willfully sin and God is OK with that, you are severely wrong. You are deceiving yourself into believing in the lies from Satan. This is not belief at all if you are still dwelling in the midst of sin. It does not make you a follower of Jesus, while thinking these things, but a follower of Satan. 2Remember that even the Devil and His demons believe in Jesus and fear Him. Your evil deeds are known by God and His wrath is upon you. There surely will be a punishment for the wicked, come judgement day. And only the righteous will be able to stand the wrath of God, as the evil doers are thrown into the lake of fire for eternity. Here are the reasons why a person lives a life of sin, as James stated, 3“ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.” And there is a big reason why your prayers are not being answered. James said, “3ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” It is because you are not in good standing with the Lord, is why your prayers are not heard and received. It is time to wake up from a life of sin. As James said, 3“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” This is serious stuff. Repent now while you still can.
As we read the Bible, it is crystal clear that to believe and walk in faith, is also a life change. We no longer walk after the lusts of the flesh but in the Holy Spirit. And mentioning the Spirit of God, so many people do not understand what this means. This is because they think they have the Spirit in their lives, when in fact they are only led by their lusts and selfish ambitions. James said it this way, 3“Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?” If you love God and desire the Holy Spirit to lead you, then know that He will lead you away from the dangers of this world and unto God. Away from sin and unto righteousness. So, if you want to be reconciled with God and be in good standing with Him, it all starts with a change of heart and mind. It is when we come unto Christ, in all humility, is when God’s grace comes into our lives. James said, while speaking of God, 3“but he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” Therefore, take the advice of James and repent. Confess your sins openly to the Lord in prayer and ask for forgiveness. In his own words, he calls everyone out and says, 3“submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” I pray that you heed the words of this message and start to become right with God today.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, convict us of our faults. Bring to light every sin that quenches the Spirit. Break us free from every addiction. Help us let go of all the bondage in our lives. May every lustful thought be removed from our minds. Cleanse our hearts and free us from our guilt. Forgive us Lord. We believe in You and are sorry. Have mercy upon our souls. We need You in our lives to overcome temptation. We are weak without You. You make us strong to resist the evils of this world. Give us clean hands and a pure heart. Empower us to walk in the Spirit and no longer after our own lusts. May we live a life pleasing in Your sight. This is our hearts desire Lord. We come humbly before Your throne, this day, to be sanctified. To be made clean. We want to be on Your path and to do Your will. Speak to us Lord. Lead us safely on this new journey of faith. Supply our needs as we put our trust fully in You, dear Lord. You are our good Shepherd. Take us into Your fold and lead to truth everlasting. We love You. Amen.
