Many people want to go to heaven but few desire to follow Jesus. This is like saying, I want to live there but not do Your will. Would you ever want to live some place that you hated? Do you go places that you don’t like doing? Think about your true reason why you want to go to heaven. Those in the faith of Jesus Christ will declare that heaven is home, for Jesus is there. He lives inside of us now and we can’t wait to live forever in His presence. We love His ways and cherish every moment to serve Him. It is a great joy to follow Him. However, those not in the faith may declare that they are good people and deserve to go to heaven. 3What they don’t realize is only God is good. Only He can make us righteous and holy in His presence. If we don’t live a life for Christ and don’t read the Bible than our excuse of desiring to go to heaven is because anything is better than hell. For who would want to live forever in fire and brimstone, where eternal destruction awaits. What people do not realize is that strangers are not allowed in heaven. Heaven is a sacred place where only those washed in the blood of Jesus can enter. Our fate is never set in stone but a continual life without Christ is on the broad path to hell. Watch, lest you are found unworthy in judgement. 5“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
Do your favorite things have God in the mix? Is your favorite book, the Bible or other books? This life we are leading can either go two directions. 1The straight and narrow gate to heaven or the broad gate to hell. What we love most in life tells a lot about the person we are today. If you were to talk to a follower of Jesus, they would tell you how much they adored the Bible. They would say how much they love to commune with God in prayer. He is there top priority and to live for Him is meaningful. It brings them great joy. Being a Christian is living our faith in Jesus. How can you know how to live for Him if you are not reading the Bible? Paul taught, 4“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” What we learn here is that God’s words lead us to do His will. Many good works come about because of our devotion to follow Him. We cannot do anything good but what the Lord does through us. It is important to develop a deep relationship with Jesus. Jesus must be the Lord of our lives to be saved. Jesus said, 2“why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” No longer walk in your own ways but do as He says. Get into God’s Word and abide by His teachings.
Let us pray:
Lord, help those that desire to go to heaven to be all in. If they want to be saved from destruction, then also convict them of their sins. Help people understand the importance of being washed clean by Your blood. I pray that more people will confess their sins and confide in You for forgiveness. May more people that say they believe in You, also read the Bible daily. May they draw near with their words and their hearts. Help us all develop a deeper relationship with You. If I am off tract bring me back to You. Take me away from things of this world that only take me away from You. I want to live this life for You. Help me do it. I need Your support. I cannot make it through life on my own. You are my Savior. I reach for You for all things good. Teach me. Counsel me in Your ways. I love You. Amen.
Let us read the Bible:

24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
