How often do we think of ourselves in prayer and not make mention of others? I get reminded all the time on Facebook where someone is in need of a prayer for someone that is ill or are running on hard times. I jump at the opportunity to pray for them. I pray with all my heart for their healing. It’s interesting how we sometimes have to be reminded to pray for others. There are so many people that are struggling financially, have health issues, or are just having a rough time that needs prayers. We need to ask others how they are doing. If they mention times are hard than be there for them. If you can go to their home and help them out they’d really appreciate it. Bringing people over food when times are hard is a very kind gesture. Pray with them if you can but if you can’t keep them in your prayers.
My hope is that we think of others more often than ourselves. The more we seek to love one another the more we will listen to them. We will pay attention to their needs more often than not. If we notice someone is in need of prayer we will pray with them or for them as the opportunity arises. If someone we know hasn’t come to know Christ we will share His good news with them. We will strive to be instruments of God. The Lord’s work is what’s most important. Sharing His eternal truths is so important. We need to stand up for righteousness. If we find those have a broken heart pray that God will breathe new life into them. Let God take hold of your life. Allow Him to take you by the hand. My prayer is that as we focus on God and that our hearts will be turned towards others. God is so good to us. Let us be as kind to others.
Philemon 1:4-7
4 I thank my God, making mention of you always in my prayers,
5 hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,
6 that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
7 For we have great joy and consolation in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.
