Abide Under The Shadow Of The Almighty

Those who seek God are able to have His presence in their lives. Not only do they have the Holy Spirit in them, but the Father’s presence in the places we are at. I am talking about in church, our homes, and even the outdoors, God’s presence will fill the atmosphere. These are those who make Jesus the Lord of their lives. He is more than just words on paper, but know Him personally as their Lord, God, and King. In Him do they put their trust, not in earthly things or treasures that cannot help them in the next. For this reason, God has also become their deliverer. When sick, God is able to give them strength to overcome it and many times healed. David wrote, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.” (Psalm 91:1-3) There is true deliverance found only in the Lord, where we are not affected by the enemy.

If we allow God to cover us, we are protected from the enemy. Like the wings of eagles, we are also carried away safely apart from evil and strife. This is when we can be a light in the darkness, of which darkness doesn’t affect us. We have a shield to fight against temptation, and also the lusts of the flesh, which causes many people to fall. Therefore, God’s wrath is not upon us but on the wicked. Pestilence badly affects those in darkness not those in the light. We can get sick because of Covid, but if we die, we go to be with the Lord. Those who are sick and die that are wicked go to hell and feel the effects of God’s wrath. David continued and said, “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.” (Psalm 91:4-6) May you strive to live according to God’s will. Then, will His presence be with you at all times.  Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that more people will come to You and also be used for Your kingdom. To come to You humbly, in order for Your presence to be in their lives. With the power of the Holy Spirit and You, Father, we can do all things on earth and in heaven. God, I love it when Your presence is with me. Not only am I moved by the Spirit, but people around me are influenced also. Surely, I can do so much more when You are doing the work through me than when I try to do the work myself. This is when people don’t listen and walk right past me. I can approach people with good intent, but without You, they will not understand my purpose for their lives. So I pray that whenever I go out evangelizing that not only You are doing the talking through me, but that Your presence will come upon people I am talking to. This is the only way I will ever see results for Your kingdom. Lord, use me mightily by Your hand. I trust in You, Jesus. I love You. You are my deliverer. My strong tower, and fortress, that will never fall. You are my victory. Amen.

  1. Amen! We should always look to God as our everything and seek refuge in Him. He alone can set us free and protect us from the enemy and other people. He alone is God. He alone can be trusted above all other people. He can destroy the enemy’s plans. He will one day destroy the enemy. He can grant you eternal life in heaven with Him. We must always seek shelter under His wings. We must rely upon Him. We must allow ourselves to be in accordance with His will and always obey Him and do what is right. We must always seek His face and His approval. He alone can save us from hell.
