You Are Not Cast Off From God

While in sin, people often think that God will cast them off forever. How they are no longer important in God’s sight. That His mercy is not for them. Doubts begin to swirl in their minds, wondering if He is even real. Is God gracious to us when we are in sin? No. But is He gracious to us when we confess our sins? Yes. His anger is towards the unrepentant, but mercy towards the person who desires to get right with Him. Therefore, they remember Him and know that if you put your trust in God, your life will be so much better. David wrote in a similar manner and said, “will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more? Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore? Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah. And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.” (Psalm 77:7-10)

Remember the works of God, even when times are hard. Think about all the wonderful things He has done for you and your family. Meditate upon God and make mention of Him to others. No one is greater than God. He has done many wonderful works and will continue to do so. There is hope in the Lord. His arms are stretched out to receive us, that we might be redeemed. David concluded and said, “I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings. Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people. Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.” (Psalm 77:11-15) Please know that these same arms of mercy are for you also. Come to Jesus and experience His joy. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will come to know You. Not to continue in sin but to confess their sins, in order for You to make them a saint in Your kingdom. Too many people think that they have done too much to be forgiven. That they must be cast off forever from Your sight because of the wicked things they have committed and still do. God, I once thought this also. You know what I have done that is so evil. I don’t deserve Your mercy either, but still, You came into my life and have not left me since. You are so good to me, and not only me, but to every person who calls upon Your Name for salvation. I love You, Jesus. You are the way to eternal life, not a religion. Surely, many people have said that they are the way or their church is the way, but that is untrue. You are the way to heaven, Lord. Judgment is in Your hands, Jesus, and only You can give us entrance into Your kingdom. Help us, Lord. I trust in You, Jesus. Amen.

  1. Amen! God’s mercy is for the righteous. The righteous are the repentant. If you desire to be right before Him, His mercy is for you. He does not cast off the ones who seek Him. He is very merciful and gives people many chances for salvation. Praise God for Jesus Christ and for His cross and for His salvation and for His peace and for His blood.
