There will be a day when God will wipe away all the tears from our eyes. When there will be no more sickness, no more death, no more sadness, no more worries, no more depression, no more sorrow, and no more grief. The former things are passed away and we are now with God, our King. Here, the Lord will fill us up with joy abundant, love that never ends, peace that is beyond understanding, and mercy that never fails. This will be a glorious day. Even John was so blessed to see this day. “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Revelation 21:1-4) Wow! Give glory to God for allowing all this to take place for those who love Him. My friends, our Lord is preparing a place for each of us in heaven. What a time this will be when this day finally comes.
Revelation 21 continues with, “And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” (Revelation 21:5-7) In this new heaven and new earth, we will experience what everlasting joy is really like. Even our old bodies are passed away and we will receive glorious bodies that will never die or get sick. Here in the New Jerusalem will we be able to drink of the fountains of eternal life freely. And we will be called by our Lord God and King, that we are His sons and daughters. So while in this life, Jesus has told us to, “let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.” (John 14:1-4) If you are anxious about anything, give it all to Jesus. Don’t let yourself bear your burdens on your own. Instead, let the Lord, our God, come into your life. Then, will He pick you up on eagles wings. Where your burdens will be made light. The Lord Jesus is so good to us.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I come to You in worship and praise. I exalt Your great Name, Jesus. Thank You for coming into my life and for forgiving me a sinner. I was so far from You, but still, You had compassion upon me. Though my flesh is weak, You have made me strong. In my temptations, You built me up in Your armor, that I might fight against the enemy. I will no longer stand idly by while Satan has his way in me, but fight each day, each hour, and every minute for Your cause. No longer do I wish to grieve the Holy Spirit, for I only want to be in Your presence God. I want more of You and less of me. Have Your way in my life. Let Your will be done in everything I say and do. If I say and do anything, may it be for Your kingdom and not for my own self. And Lord, thank You for my family. Thank You for drawing us near each night in Bible study and prayer. We have grown in the Spirit as a family and long for Your coming. Yes, Jesus, we can’t wait to be raised up to be with You in the clouds. You are our God and to declare Your great Name brings me great joy. What a day it will be to be with You on this new earth and new heaven. Thank You for preparing a place for every believer. We are not worthy to be called Your sons and daughters, but because of Your mercy, we are drawn into Your fold. As adopted children, we give You thanks this day and forever. Keep our paths straight. Help us to walk in Your holiness and righteousness. Pierce our hearts to forgo every sinful way, in order to follow You completely. I love You, Lord. Amen.
