Book Of Mormon Contradiction: Alma 18:24-29

How interesting that in the Book of Mormon we learn that God is a Spirit, not a God with flesh and bones, just like the Bible teaches. However, in the core Mormon teachings, the Father has a body of flesh and bones like unto Jesus and us. At a young age, they teach children in their church this false doctrine. In their lesson for kids, the teacher instructs… “To help each child understand that Heavenly Father is a real person, with a perfected body of flesh and bones, and that we are made in his image.” (Heavenly Father has a body) But how do they now explain away these verses in their pride and joy Book of Mormon?  “And Ammon began to speak unto him with boldness, and said unto him: Believest thou that there is a God? And he answered, and said unto him: I do not know what that meaneth. And then Ammon said: Believest thou that there is a Great Spirit? And he said, Yea. And Ammon said: This is God. And Ammon said unto him again: Believest thou that this Great Spirit, who is God, created all things which are in heaven and in the earth? And he said: Yea, I believe that he created all things which are in the earth; but I do not know the heavens.” (Alma 18:24-29) So God is Spirit only.

Speaking of God the Father being a spirit only, it is written, “Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:21-24) It doesn’t say that God the Father has a body with His Spirit, but a Spirt only. And as a Spirit only, He is also an invisible God. Paul said, “giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.” (Colossians 1:12-15) Spiritual beings may look like they have a body like us, but still, they are Spirit only. This is why God can be at any place and at any time. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that Your words will become the norm when it comes to our beliefs. Help every person who says they are for You to lay down their own beliefs, in order to learn from You and You alone. Inwardly, our flesh wants to take the reigns and not let You do the work. This causes us to develop some very strange beliefs about You and not what You desire for us. Lord, I have seen many people make up a God in their own eyes. A God that suits their own beliefs, in order to continue living the same sinful lifestyle that they have always lived. To have their conscience seared and their false beliefs become known is not what most people want. They would rather live and die believing in something than to know Your will for their lives. This is so dangerous, God. Do people really want to jeopardize their salvation because of man-made beliefs they developed in this lifetime? How is it that people have strayed so far from reading the Bible, that what other people say is now more important? Truly, there is a drought when it comes to Your words in scripture. The hunger and thirst for Your words are missing in people’s lives. This can all change if people turned to You in faith. I love You, Lord. I believe in You, Jesus. Amen.
