No matter if people say they believe in Jesus or not, they will one day know He is real and alive. This will either happen in judgment or on earth first, depending upon those who are around when He comes in the clouds. At this point, people will know that He is God and that no one is like Him. They will see Jesus in the clouds sitting on a white horse. Looking into His eyes, they will see a fire blazing. His head will have many crowns. He is clothed in red linen, signifying the blood He shed for us on the cross. Every person will come to know His names as Faithful and True, the Word of God, and also see a name that nobody knows but Jesus himself. And with the Lord will be angels and the saints of God upon their white horses. The saints will be clothed in white robes to signify that they are made clean through the blood of the lamb. John wrote of this and said, “and I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.” (Revelation 19:11-13)
Now, when Jesus returns it will be with wrath upon the wicked who are left on earth. Out of His mouth will come a sword, which will be used to kill people in every nation. They will know who is King and Lord of all, as He will rule them with a rod of iron. Upon His clothing, these people will also read another name from the Almighty God, which is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. At this point, a new gathering will take place by the angels. Not to gather the elect of God, but the wicked, for the supper of the Lamb has begun. This is when the fowls of the air will eat the flesh of those who are dead during this time. And many mighty men, including kings, will fall in this war called Armageddon. It is written, “and out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.” (Revelation 19:15-18) All this is true and will happen when people least expect it.
Lastly, we learn of the details of the people who will be gathered together in war against Jesus, His saints, and the angels. These are people from every nation. If the war is in the clouds, different aerial vehicles will most definitely be trying to take them down with their aircraft. If Jesus touches down upon the earth at this time, then tanks and other army vehicles will be used. Most likely nuclear bombs will go off. All this with causing no harm. Instead, people who fight will be the first to die. Then, the beast, those who got the mark, and the false prophet will be cast into the lake of fire. Everyone else will be slain and await their judgment. This we read, “and I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.” (Revelation 19:19-21) We don’t have to be afraid if we are God’s true believers. His wrath is not upon us, but those who are against Him. And know that if you love the Lord, then You will be saved before this dreadful day comes. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray for people who are on earth now and will be when You return Jesus. If people have not repented on that day, then they will get what they rightly deserve. Justice has to be served, for You are our King and Lord of Lords. I worship You, God. It is hard to believe that people will continue to resist You, even until the end of their lives. I often have to wonder why people would choose to live a life without You, God, when they could be saved from the wrath to come. It doesn’t have to be difficult to be saved, but many people make it seem this way. They add extra rules to their religion thinking it will better help them, but in reality, it is only keeping them from doing Your will. Surely, the gospel message is simple, but people like to complicate it. If people could just know the will for themselves, they would stop trying to work their way to heaven but live to do Your will instead. It is sure nice to know that You are speaking to us and also leading us by the hand. I love the feeling of being led by You. Truly, I am not the only one blessed when this happens, but others around me also. One thing You have taught me, God, is that there will be persecution, although we are made strong with You leading us. Things will only get worse as time goes by, but I know that You will one day come for Your church. Then, will we be raptured up to be with You. Not to endure any more lives trials, but be forever blessed. I love You, God. You are my King and I worship You. Amen.
