Doubting God And His Spiritual Giftings

There are times that we will doubt God and what He wants to do in our lives. The task at hand may seem too hard to bear. This was the case for Moses when he was told by God to speak to Pharaoh, in order for him to set God’s people free. You can hear his negative reaction to God’s calling for Him and then how God was angry with him in the following verses. It reads, “and Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses.” (Exodus 4:10-14) The truth is, my friends, God wants to use us in His kingdom in ways that we may not want to. How we react to the Lord’s desires for our lives is what is most important.

It was after Moses and Aaron spoke to Pharaoh that Moses thought there was no way the Pharaoh would change his mind and set God’s people free. He complained in chapter 5 and then in chapter 6 he again mentioned how his speech is not good enough for the Pharaoh to listen to him. Therefore, doubts were swirling in his mind. These verses read, “these are they which spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron. And it came to pass on the day when the Lord spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt, that the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, I am the Lord: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee. And Moses said before the Lord, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?” (Exodus 6:27-30) These doubts you just read about didn’t go by quickly for Moses, but thankfully as time went by they eventually did. You see, the more people trust in God, the more they also stop doubting themselves and simply do as God says. This is when His will is done on earth. Only when we doubt God is when He finds someone else to do what he wants. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will not only use me for Your kingdom but many more Christians also. I know that we have millions of people that say they are Christian, but only a few of them have and are using spiritual giftings for Your kingdom now. Why this is, I may never know. But this does not have to continue this way. First off, I pray for every pastor at different Bible-believing churches. Lead them, Lord. Give them words to speak. Help them awaken people to Your ministry and not just come to church. There is so much that people could be doing with spiritual giftings upon them from heaven, but how can they know about such gifts unless it is taught? Through baptism is when an outpouring of these spiritual gifts comes. May this teaching become crystal clear for every person in the churches. I pray for a hunger for Your Word and to pray like never before in every person’s hearts, not just pastors. Then, will they also desire to go out in the harvest and begin to win souls for You, Jesus. I have loved the times I have gone out and reached people with Your gospel message, Lord. These are the best times of my life. I love You. Doing Your will is what I am called for. I trust in You. Amen.
