There were grave consequences given to Satan, men, and women because of the fall. I am speaking of Adam and Eve eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The first punishment was given to Satan. It is written, “and the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:14,15) Lucifer was cursed even more than any animal on earth. He must have eaten food before, but now was given over to dust only. That woman and her seed would be his enemies from here on out. Demonic forces may try to take us over, but through the Spirit of the Lord, we have victory and are able to defend ourselves against the enemy. God also caused Eve and women from that day forward to go through much sorrow and pain when it comes to childbirth. Women will tell you this is so true in every way. However, abortion is never a good option, for it goes against God and what He is forming in the wombs of mothers. If you believe in God’s creative hand and give Him glory for what He has done, why stop Him in the creation process of your son or daughter that is not born yet?
Each woman was also given a desire to be their husband, which goes against homosexuality. It is written, “unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.” (Genesis 3:16) Next up was Adam who would receive his punishment from God. What is grown upon the earth is tainted in a way that it will be difficult to bear good fruit, vegetables, and even healthy livestock for food. Therefore, much work will now be required, in order to try to eat well. Therefore, it is easy to get sick. And lastly, God’s word says, “and unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” (Genesis 3:17-19) Therefore, life is not easy for men and women because of the fall of Adam and Eve. However, it is worth it still to live a life for Christ. Our bodies will return to the earth, but our spirits will return to God in heaven if we are worthy, otherwise hell is our destination.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I am thankful that in such a dark world, I have your light surrounding me. Although life can be very hard and full of pain and regret, You have given me answers that I’ve needed to go forward in faith. Even when times have been very hard, You have given me the strength to bear every burden. I am so grateful for Your presence in my life, though I don’t always deserve it. Thank You for Your forgiveness and mercy. I pray that You will keep me on the straight and narrow path which leads to heaven. Right now I am sick because of the flu and I pray that You will heal me from my sickness. Lord, even my family is stricken with the same illness and I pray that You will heal each one of us. Reading about the fall of Adam and Eve helps me to understand why these consequences of sickness and death have come into the world. All I know is that things are better when the Holy Spirit is in my life, God. We can try to live this life on our own, but we will continue to fall flat on our faces each time because of sin. But I do not wish to be wrapped up any longer in any type of sin, where I transgress willfully against the God I love. Therefore, equip me with the sword of the Spirit, that I might fight off the schemes of the enemy. Lord, lead me from various temptations, that I might know and do Your will instead. I believe in You, God. I trust in You, Lord. I give You my life. I will follow You, Jesus, this day and forever. I give You praise. I love You. Amen.
