This was another wonderful day in God’s harvest. We prayed for a man who was suffering because of a drug addiction and homelessness. Patrick was even so kind as to help him find a recovery program that would help him get back on track again. He even gave out his number to this man, which is amazing to see his true heart to help him come to Jesus and full sobriety in His Name. This Christian ministry he mentioned will help this man, but he must take the first steps in his own life to make it happen. We then walked around Temple Square in Salt Lake City and passed out many handouts called, “Mormon Teachings That Don’t Agree With The Bible“. I brought with me about a hundred of these pamphlets and we had given out about 75% of them already. Our only desire was to lead people away from false teachings and to the feet of Jesus. Truly, as Patrick preached, “there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 14:12) As we preached, God was with us.
Later, we talked with a man named Jared for about 2 hours in front of the LDS Conference Center. We discussed many different topics throughout this time, but best of all the dialogue we had with each other was with love. We didn’t cut each other off but allowed each other to talk. This gave way to many conversations about the temple, including baptisms for the dead, eternal marriages, and more. In regards to eternal marriages, I read the part where Jesus said we are not given in marriage in heaven, for Jesus is our bride. In regards to baptisms for the dead, there are no second chances, so these baptisms are null and void. That through faith we are saved, not through baptism. We also shared the article on the book of Abraham, where they admit that the translation is only about the book of the dead and nothing about Abraham, therefore being false. Praise God for the time we had with this man and others throughout the day. To the God of the heavens be praised. He did a great work through us. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, we have much to give You thank for. This was day was a remarkable day for sure. I won’t soon forget the time Patrick and I had witnessing to the man who was suffering because of addictions. Thank You, Lord, for this man’s desire to get right with You again and to receive prayer and guidance and direction. This was a wonderful day to pass out gospel tracts, give out handouts, preach the truths of the gospel, and to witness to people one on one. One man specifically that You led to our table was Jared. He was so ready and willing to hear the truth of the gospel those two hours with him today. There are times that we have opportunities like this with people, but this was one was very special. Only through the Holy Spirit were we able to share the truths of the gospel and to help him unlearn the lies of Mormonism. All this was revealed to him in a loving and respectful way that he will soon not forget. You opened each one of our mouths as we spoke to him today. Thank You, Lord. We love You. Amen.
