Save Me, O God

Acknowledge your sins before God. Don’t hesitate to cry unto Him, while pouring out your heart. God knows that you are a sinner, but what makes the difference is when we pray for forgiveness and mercy. Then He knows how much you really need Him. Many people enjoy their sinful lifestyle, but those who are for the Lord hate even the appearance of evil. For this reason, they pray as David did and say, “save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God. They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.” (Psalm 69:1-4) You know what you have done, so cry out to God in your confessions.

Pray something like this but in your own words. “O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.” (Psalm 69:5) And begin to name those foolish things you have done and want to never do again. You know what sinful acts you have done. Nothing is hidden in God’s sight. If you are sincere in your sorrows, pray for His mercy and it will be extended to you. David prayed this. “But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O Lord, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.” (Psalm 69:13) Although he was bitten by lust, he was sorrowful and God knew he was sincere. This is why he continued and said, “hear me, O Lord; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.” (Psalm 69:16) David was forgiven by the Lord. And we are not any different than Him. Come unto Jesus and allow His blood to cover your sins. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will help me. Just like all Christians, we fight against temptations. Satan knows our weaknesses and prays on them at different times of the day. I know this very well, for I am weak at times, and if it wasn’t for Your mighty power in my life I would be falling flat on my face more times than not. But you know me better than most, God. I am not perfect. I have done many things that I am not happy about. Things that have caused me to be very sorrowful. I have not only hurt You but my family. Thankfully, You heard my cries. In my confessions, I felt your loving kindness and compassion. Nothing could change me from within, but You were able to. Thankfully, I have a wife that is also so forgiving. Lord, coming to You in complete serenity hasn’t come with bumps and bruises. In saying this, I will keep running back to You if I fall. You have helped me get back up on my feet again many times. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. I love You, Lord. Have Your way in my life. I submit myself to You today and forever. Amen.
