In Revelation, chapter 10, we learn about a mighty angel who came unto John in a vision. This was not one of the angels who sounded their trumpets during the seventh seal, but another angel whom God called. This messenger was different from the rest, for he resembled God almighty in his appearance. Here is what John saw in this amazing vision. 2“I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.” Notice that he was clothed with a cloud, has a rainbow on his head, his face is like the sun and his feet were pillars of fire. This mighty angel surely shares similarities attributed to the Lord God in Revelation 4, which reads, 1“and he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.” What we can gather here is that this angel must be one of God’s right hand angels, in that he bears many similarities to Him. Praise God. What John saw here is absolutely amazing indeed.
Now let us continue reading about the vision that John saw. I will tell you that as we read, every word will be even more amazing then the last. It continues on and says, 2“and when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer. But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.” Here we learn that this is a mighty angel indeed, but not God, for after John heard the thunders and voices in the heavens, he also heard the voice of God telling him not to write anything more about what he heard and saw. Now, getting back to this mysterious angel, you can see that he is here to point us to Father on the throne. He said to believe in the One that is eternal, our creator and Lord, whom He created all things through His Son Jesus. He then told us that in heaven, there is no time. And in speaking of the earth, he declared that what the prophets have declared will be fulfilled as it is written.
This vision ends when John is told about a book. It is recorded, 2“and the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.” And so John is told to reach out and get the book that was in the angel’s hand. His mission from God was to take it and eat it. And after he ate it, it was made known to him about his earthly ministry. That God was not done with him yet. What He had started with him now, was just the beginning. He would use him to speak to many more people, among many nations. And as we read the bible, we know that John heard this and ran with it. He did exactly what was told to him. Now the question for you is, has the Lord God called you to ministry and have you listened and obeyed Him? If so, is God happy with your decisions in life? Please take this to heart today, for God wants to do great things in your life
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that our minds will be open to Your mysteries. May we stop thinking that we know enough, but allow Your visions to come into our minds and hearts, that we may also see things as You see them. I know that what John saw in Revelations came from You and You are able to help us understand these prophesies as well as John was able to learn them. So I pray that each person that loves You and wants to do Your will, like I do, will also be filled with the Spirit and see things with the Holy Spirit in a new light. You have the power to enlighten our minds, that the veil may come off our faces and we are able to see what is truth and what is of God. It is my heart’s desire to come to know You greater each day through Your words in scripture, in prayer, and in ministry. May I always have You near me, that I may be on Your straight and narrow path that leads to heaven. I know that there are many ways in life to go, but only one way that will lead me to find true joy, that is only found in You. May every person that says they believe in You, truly believe in You for salvation. May my faith in You be evident by Your Godly works in my life and others. It is truly a joy to serve You and to minister to others in Your great Name. I wish all the world would know You and to make You the king of their lives. You are the Lord of all and can change anyone’s life, if we but confess our sins and look to You in faith. Keep us in line with Your words daily and lead us away from temptation. I love You more Lord. In thy holy Name, Jesus. Amen.

1Revelation 4 (KJV)
1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
