Remember others when they do kind things for you. Giving thanks for things we receive is so important in the eyes of God. It is sad that so many people forget to be thankful. How many times have you forgotten to say thank you for something nice somebody has done for you? It may have been a huge help but still you forgot to thank them. Don’t let other things cloud your minds when people do nice things for you. Joseph was a perfect example of showing kindness to the butler for interpreting his dream but still he forgot him and left him in prison. I pray that if you don’t feel obligated to thank others and God for your blessings that you repent. Give yourself over to the Lord and let God’s love pour through your lives towards others. By this, God’s love will work through you to be more thankful for things that you have and accept. Even more so, you will remember what people have done. Our thanksgiving will be shown in words and in doing kind things to them that bless us. Examine your lives before God. If you don’t already have a thankful heart for one another pray for it. Ask God to change the way you act around people. When you receive kind gifts, say thank you. As you accept the love of Christ in your lives you will see the blessings He bestows upon you and thanksgiving will flow their your veins.
When God does good things in your lives, be grateful. Learn from the leper who was healed by Jesus when he, “fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks”. Just like the other nine lepers forgot the Lord, when they were heeled, don’t let this be the norm in our lives. Remember God’s blessings. Come to the Lord in prayer when He does great things for you. As you are blessed from heaven, return “to give glory to God”. Give God the praise and honor He deserves. We don’t deserve the mercy and forgiveness Jesus offers us but He still offers it freely. When we are down and out, His peace feels the room and lifts us up. When all seems lost, the Lord pulls us through it. He heals our lives time and again but we still forget how blessed we really are. If God has made an impact on your lives, give Him thanks, this day. Sing songs of praise to His glorious Name. Let the anthems ring out in songs and worship. Our faith is manifested in our thanks to God. Our faith makes us whole in His presence. Oh Lord, I am so sorry for not being grateful for all the times You’ve been there for me. So many times I just received the good gifts and walked away. Receive my thanksgiving, this day. I may have been blind to Your great love but I can see it now. Everywhere I go, you do many things for my good. Thank You. May my heart be more thankful for things you do for me and others. I love You.
Genesis 40:9-15,20,21,23 (KJV)
9 And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;
10 And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:
11 And Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.
12 And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
13 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
14 But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
15 For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
20 And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
21 And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand:
23 Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.
Luke 17:11-19 (KJV)
11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
