Sin brings death. Not just to this life but the life to come. When we sin there is a separation from us and the Lord, which is awful. For we are lost without Him. If we die in our sins than we will be cut off from Him forever for God can’t dwell in sin. The Lord is spotless and pure. No one is perfect but Jesus makes us perfect. He paid the price for our sins on the cross. His blood was shed that we could be redeemed. This selfless love was delivered to all mankind if they would just repent and believe in Him. However, many people never fully accept God’s sacrifice for us. Instead of letting Jesus wash away their stains they continue to dwell in sin. They may come to the Lord in prayer but they are still denying His healing power until they let the Lord change their hearts. They must let the Lord renew their lives. Only the Lord can free us from shame and guilt. Through the Spirit of God all darkness can be overcome and light can return. Jesus lives in the light, seek Him and you will find joy.
What God expects of us is to give Him our whole hearts. To believe means to walk in His ways. We will no longer dwell in sin but let the Lord break the chains of addiction. Our hearts will begin to hate the sin. Our shields will come up for the Lord is our strength. If we fall, we won’t let it get us down. We will run back to the Lord and ask for forgiveness. We won’t let Satan rule our lives. We will rely on Jesus to help us recover from any stain. All those that have the Spirit of God with them will be found worthy before the Lamb. Jesus will “present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight”. “Continue in the faith grounded and settled” for this is the way to eternal life. It brings me great joy to one day see my Lord in all His glory. You are Holy, my Lord. You shine brightest in my life. I am honored to follow You. You have my heart. I accept your sacrifice. Thank You for the cross. Thank You for this new life. I am renewed through your great love. I lift You up in the highest praise.
Colossians 1:19-23 (KJV)
19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
