There will be a time when all the wicked will be punished. Judgement is awaiting all of us. The question is, do we live for God or live for ourselves? Here are a few characteristics of the wicked. Their faith is based on other people’s beliefs. They haven’t developed a relationship with the Lord. Their prayer life is minimal at best. The Bible isn’t most important to them. Reading other books and watching TV takes the highest priority. They believe they can work their way to heaven. Self-recognition is important to them. They do more things for themselves than God. They feed their inner desires with drugs, pornography and other lustful things. They have a hard time forgiving one another. Their most important decisions are made on their own. They are more excited at and watching sporting events on TV than their time with God. The wicked may not have all of these characteristics but if any of these things reside in your life, repent. Come to the Lord in prayer and plead for His forgiveness. Commit your life to God. Awaken your soul to Jesus.
The Lord looks at the heart and knows if we truly love Him. At judgement, all of His followers will enter His joy with enthusiasm. They will be ready for they committed their whole life to Him. Here are a few characteristics of the righteous. Their faith is knit in Jesus Christ. They trust in Him for answers. They pray intently and repent of their sins. They love the Lord’s presence and desire to know Him better each day. Reading the Bible is a pleasure. They often read the Word of God for the message is meaningful to their life. As they love God, good works automatically come from them. Sharing the Lord’s message is all for God’s Glory. They live to serve God and others. They are fulfilled by the love of God. They love all people and forgive easily. In all their dealings they seek the Lord. They lift up the Lord in praise and nothing can stand up to His majesty. I pray that we all become true followers of the Lord. Oh Lord, we love You and honor You. Let your will be done. Awaken all people to your mercy. Give them a renewed heart to follow You.
Habakkuk 1:12-13
12 Are You not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O Lord, You have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, You have marked them for correction.
13 You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, And cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours A person more righteous than he?
