God is willing to forgive all our sins. Nothing we have ever done is too sinful that the Lord God is able to pardon. We may be scarred because of our present and past sins, but still, God is able to heal us in order for us to walk anew. We have a new outlook on life. The Lord comes and saves us from a life of destruction. We are met with love, kindness, and mercy from on high. We are taken from a life of despair and sadness and into His everlasting arms of mercy and love. David wrote the following about the God of the heavens. “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies.” (Psalm 103:3,4) God is so merciful, and just. Because of His grace towards humankind, He is slow to anger and quick to show us mercy. We may not deserve God’s love, but He shows it nonetheless. “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.” (Psalm 103:8) Have you experienced this in your life? If not, then get down on your knees and invoke God’s name in prayer today. He will come quickly to your rescue.
Look to God even when it seems impossible for God to still care for you. Although He is in the heavens, God’s hand of mercy is ever stretched out toward those who love Him. This means being willing to confess our sins, in order to forsake them. This attitude of giving it all to the Lord is what causes us to find freedom from any addiction. David continued and wrote, “for as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:11,12) From the East to the West, God no longer remembers our sins, for they are forgiven. If You fear God, then keep His commandments. This shows a lot about your character when it comes to God and His kingdom on earth, as it is in heaven. “But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.” (Psalm 103:17,18) It is amazing how natural it is to obey God for those who truly love and look to Him daily. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, thank You for Your love, mercy, kindness, patience, and forgiveness. Who am I to deserve Your favor after all I have done against You? It was known in the heavens that when I was younger, I fell hard because of the lusts of the flesh. The pleasures of this world meant more to me than anything else. I felt condemnation for my sins but was able to justify them over time. But before my days were numbered, You awakened my soul to repentance. It was fear that gripped me from within, and now I wanted to know You, the only true God. My life was in disarray, but I knew that You had the power to heal it. My sins were heavy, but Your mercy was stronger. My tears came streaming down when You came and put Your arms around me. There was love that I had never felt before. No longer was I alone in trying to deal with my sins, for with Your presence in my life I am strong to resist temptation. While I was scared before to say “get behind me Satan”, I will say this now in Your authority. I love You, Jesus. Have Your way in my life. I believe in You, Lord. You are my God and I worship You today and forevermore. Amen.
No pit is so deep that Christ’s love and grace cannot reach.
