God knows who are living examples of their faith in Him. He knows who is alive and who is dead in their faith. We got people that earnestly seek the Lord Jesus daily in prayer and Bible study and then do His will also. However, we got people who go to church once a week, once a month, or once a year during Easter or Christmas. No matter how many times they go, they have a life that is not ok with God. And this all stems from them not committing their lives to follow Jesus. They have been a bystander for too long and are called by God to repent and get right with Him today. We don’t know the hour of Christ’s return, so it is better to come to grips with their faith and seek Jesus while they have time. John said this about similar people in the church of Sardis. It is written, “and unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.” (Revelation 3:1-3) So set your sights on Jesus.
Now to those who are living their lives faithfully for Jesus. There are rewards coming for your faithfulness to Him. He has seen the good works that have come not from yourself but from the Holy Spirit. You have repented of your sins are now forgiven in His sight. The Lord Jesus’s blood has covered you making you clean in His sight. Therefore, the Lord has confessed you before the Father and the angels. This means that the day that you die, or are raptured up to be with Jesus in the clouds, you will be clothed in white. This signifies your worthiness in His sight. Your names are written in the lamb’s book of life and are therefore saved. Praise be to God. Lastly, John wrote, “thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” (Revelation 3:4-6) I am grateful to be called God’s servant on earth. I live my life to serve my King. I also wish that anybody who is dead in their faith will be renewed in the love of Jesus. There is time to come back to the Lord in all faithfulness to Him before their time is up. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I know that only You can take a person’s faith and make it alive. Otherwise, on our own merits, we will never make it. I know that only You can conform me to be the person I need to be in this life. On my own, I am not worthy. I can think that what I do is good, but it is all filthy rags in Your sight. Therefore, I need You daily in my life. Help me, Lord. Be by my side. I want to know You more. Give me wisdom and lead me by the hand. You are my God and I worship You alone. Have Your way in my life. Without You, I am lost in this darkened world. Lord, Please help every person who is dead in the faith. Help them understand that remaining this way is where salvation is lost. We can’t be a bystander and not go all in and think we are saved. Therefore, I pray that people from all around the world will begin to put their trust in You. You are worthy to be praised and to follow. As for this day and the future, I commit my life to follow You. Where else will I go? For only You hold the keys to eternal life. I want to be with You, Lord, in Your kingdom. If it is Your will, I pray that a place is prepared for me in heaven or the new earth. Wherever I may be, if I am with You and in Your presence, I will be forever grateful. I am grateful now just to have You in my life and can’t wait for it to last for all eternity. I love You, God. I trust in You. Amen.
