If we are on God’s side then sin will not abound. With the Lord in our heart there will be no willful sin in our lives. We head what John said when he taught, 1“my little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” What this means is Jesus can help us but we must also decide stop sinning and repent. His sacrifice for sins can cover those that follow Him. There 1“is the propitiation for our sins, but we must allow His blood to cover us. We need to look at our lives and the time we spend doing things. Are we an example of our faith or a stumbling to those around us? Understand that if you seek the Spirit of God in your life, then you will also allow Him to cleanse you of all sin. You will be open for confession of all your sins. With Jesus in our hearts, there is forgiveness for the things we have done. This has led us to walk differently. We no longer live in the world and yield to the 1“lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.” We understand that the world will one day pass away, 1“and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” A life led by the Lord is different, for we live a life for Christ. Anybody living differently is 1“of the world” and not of God. These people are not saved but are in danger of His wrath, while in this life and in judgement. Know that when we believe in Christ, it is meaningful. We are no longer living for the flesh but in the Spirit.
If we are to believe that we know God personally, then we are also living in His will. There is a conviction 1“that we know him, if we keep his commandments.” If we do not keep His laws, then we are 1“a liar, and the truth is not” in us. Those that read the Bible and do what the Word of God teaches, have 1“the love of God perfected.” That is the only way we can say that we know the Lord. We are taught to abide in the Lord and by so doing we also 1“walk, even as he walked.” In this new walk 1“the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.” We are no longer of the world but are grafted into the fold of Christ. Those that say they are 1“in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.” Don’t be deceived and make yourself a liar, only those people that love their 1“brother abideth in the light.” Those in Christ Jesus do not stumble or make others stumble also, because of our love for them. Where is there is hate, God is not there. 2“God is love” and therefore, anger casteth Him away from our lives. Please understand that 1“He that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness.” There ground is not on solid ground I fear for their soul. This is because these people 1“knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.” It is my prayer that you allow the Lord tear out all the hatred from your heart. Only then can His love come in, and change your love. Say sorry to those you’ve hurt and there is forgiveness also from God.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, may your love come now and become even stronger in my life and the lives of those around me. May this love transform the way I speak and act around other people. May they see You, when they see me. May they feel Your love in my presence. I pray that Your love will cast aside all hatred and bitterness from my heart. May I never be so bitter as to not forgive those that offend me. When I am in the wrong, may I see it so clearly that I tell the other person sorry for what I have done. May my sins convict me to the very soul, that I may be found in prayer and confession to You. I know that as I live in Your perfect will, temptation will have no power over me. Even sin will not abound, for You are there to protect me. Lord, I love Your ways. I love Your commandments. Help me to remember them and to keep them always. I pray that Your ways are my ways. I love You. Amen.
