So many people are going to be surprised when death finally reaches them. Oh so many have lived a life for themselves. Many people build up riches that will do nothing for their favor in judgement. For God 1“seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.” They believe that doing this will bless their next of kin and the generations ahead of them. 1“Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.” These people surely have their hearts in the wrong place. Instead of building up a legacy of God, at the head, for their family, they built up earthy treasures for them. Their heart was not for the Lord, for they walked in the ways of the flesh. Most people do things that will please their family, while on earth. However, the same people do not realize that none of it will last. Nothing we do in this mortal body means anything unless it is tied with the Lord. The blessings of God will carry forth forever, in heaven. Anyone that builds up a lifestyle, away from God, are on a path to destruction. They may even act like really nice people but without Jesus, they have nothing to show for. These men and women may be honored by those around them, but to God are 1“like the beasts that perish.” 1“Their way is their folly.” What is most sad about this, is how misguided their family was, when looking at the person that died. Many of 1“their posterity” approved 1“their sayings” instead of searching them out with God.
People that lay treasures for themselves and others on earth are on a destructive path to hell. All their fame and fortune is all for nothing. Now death is taking them captive as they wallow in terror before the judgement seat of God. 1“Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.” In the grave, our earthly stature is meaningless. 1“Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.” Only the glory of God shall reign within Him, if His heart was for the Lord. If not, then only darkness remains. 1“Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself. He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.” Our believe in God means everything for it is light. How we increase in His love is what really matters. This is the truth we must share with our family and friends. If this is on our hearts and we ultimately pass down our love for Jesus to the next generations. Just imagine the fruit from that. We can either lead those around us to eternal torment in hell, along with us, or help them see the light of Christ and be accepted into heaven. Through the blood of Jesus we can be redeemed. Let this not become your future. If you are not living by faith in Jesus Christ, then repent. Make something for yourselves, in the eyes of God. Come to Jesus and be born again in His love.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, my earnest desire is for my family, friends and those around me to know You. I am grateful for each new day to read the Bible and pray. Your writings help me know the way. I am lead safely through the dangers of life through Your words. Every word is a guide to my life. Lord, I am able to hear Your voice. You are my shepherd and I know how much You care for me. Please bless my family and friends. I pray that they may make treasures in heaven and not earth. I pray that their beliefs may be centered around You and not the world. You bring me more peace and joy than anything I could ever imagine. If I could just show people how blessed I truly am to know You, Jesus. In death, I will greet You in honor and praise. I will rejoice just to be with You, in Your presence. May many of my family and friends be there with me. Open their hearts now to follow You. I love You. Amen.
