It was amazing to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, this day. As Joan and I met, to follow-up with Linda, we were very excited to talk with her. We prayed that she would open her heart to Jesus. That she would give us the time God needed to share the gospel. No matter how the message would be given we prayed that God would use us for His work and His glory. We were so happy that she did invite us back to talk with her. So we went to her door and knocked. After a little while of waiting she answered. At first she said she was no longer interested to hear what we had to say or have a discussion in the Bible. Then, out of nowhere, something changed. Joan asked her if she could share the “Three Circles” with her and she said yes. Joan described that we all live in a broken world. We try to do things to break free from our brokenness but nothing works. Drugs, alcohol, new jobs, more money, sex, all of this leads to more brokenness. God’s plan was for us to be in his love but our sins lead us away from Him. Our connection with God is broken because of sin. Jesus came down to die for us that we could be forgiven. That we could be set free and start a new life in Him. Through the cross we are brought from death to life. He restores us back into His love. After she gave this message, I read from 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, about the gospel. Here is an excerpt of the scripture I shared, “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”.
It was amazing to share the gospel with Linda. After discussing the gospel truths, she asked us what church we attended. We responded that we went to Calvary Chapel Boise but that each of us that believe in Christ all make up the church. Those in the faith of Jesus Christ are part of His body. We are of Christ and not a church building. No building will save us. Only Christ the Lord saves. It was very nice talking with Linda, this day. Though she wasn’t interested in us coming back, we know that seeds were planted in her heart. The gospel was shared and from now on she will know the difference in what men may say the gospel is in the Mormon Faith and what the Bible teaches. We also knocked on some other doors, in which we talked to them about God and the Bible. The first gentlemen gave us his time to talk but wasn’t interested in what we had to say about God. His heart was closed to Him because of his encounters in the Mormon Church. We encouraged him to seek God and not let bad experiences in one church lead him from Christ. The last gentlemen was still getting ready for the day and didn’t believe much about God. With much love, we told him that the Bible is true and that we’d hope to share a message with him, next time. Thank You Lord for using us this day to share Your gospel with Linda. Thank You for the Holy Spirit that was with us. Your gospel message of the cross is so important. I pray that she may remember what we taught her. That these seeds that were planted this day may ripen. I love You Lord.
1 Corinthians 12:12-14,27 (KJV)
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
