Live To Be Holy

We are commanded by God to live a holy life. As believers in Christ we are to be a light to this darkened generation. People should be able to talk to us and see a difference in our lives. We may not appear to be much on the outside but our heart is all in it for Jesus. As we follow His teachings we will automatically desire to be like Him. It will be part of our inner nature to follow His commandments. The way we treat our parents will be out of respect and kindness. We will love them as ourselves. Each day will be a new day to serve our King. We will seek the Lord for His guidance in prayer. Church will be something we look forward to attending. Reading the Bible will be a natural occurrence. We will find time for the Lord and He will be most important in our life.

I love You, Lord. Surely, I would be lost in this life without You. I may not know much about being Holy but I will seek to learn from You. I am ready to put aside the lusts of the flesh and idols of the world. I no longer need to spend time watching TV or movies. Playing video games is no longer important to me. I no longer need the latest and greatest smart phone or gadget. To seek your presence and learn of You is most important to me. I am ready to give everything to You. I love my family and cherish the time I have with them. When I go to church, I give offerings because I love You. I offer my life freely to You. I devote my life to You. In all my ways, I will follow You. For my salvation rests in You only.

Leviticus 19:1-5
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
2 “Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.
3 ‘Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and keep My Sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.
4 ‘Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am the Lord your God.
5 ‘And if you offer a sacrifice of a peace offering to the Lord, you shall offer it of your own free will.
