“I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.” (Daniel 7:13,14)
Jesus is the Son of God. His Father is God like unto Himself. We learn this in scripture, how the Father is the Lord of our Spirits and gives us life. Did Adam give life to himself? No. The Father breathed into His nostrils his spirit and he came to life. Speaking of Jesus, all throughout the Old and New Testament we learn about the Son of Man. Jesus is the one that gives us insight into us knowing this, when it comes to Him. Speaking of His second coming, He said that the Son of Man shall come with the angels. “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.” (Matthew 16:26,27) The glory that Jesus has is the same glory that the Ancient of Days gave Him. We learn this in Daniel, chapter 7. The Son of Man came with the clouds of heaven and unto the Ancient of Days, or the Father. This is when He was given “dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages”. Truly, the dominion that Jesus holds will never pass away, and His kingdom shall never be destroyed.
This is in stark contrast when it comes to Mormonism. They teach absolute heresy when describing the Ancient of Days, saying he is not our Father in Heaven, but Adam. How Adam is our Eternal Father, while Eve is mother, of whom gives birth to our spirits. Brigham Young taught this and said, “I tell you more, Adam is the father of our spirits…Our spirits and the spirits of all the heavenly family were begotten by Adam, and born of Eve…I tell you, when you see your Father in the Heavens, you will see Adam; when you see your Mother that bore your spirit, you will see Mother Eve.” (Brigham Young, “For This is Life Eternal”, October 8, 1854, General Conference) And this is still taught in the scriptures in Mormonism. It is written, “Spring Hill is named by the Lord Adam-ondi-Ahman, because, said he, it is the place where Adam shall come to visit his people, or the Ancient of Days shall sit, as spoken of by Daniel the prophet.” (Doctrine and Covenants 116:1) My friends, the Father is not Adam. Adam died just like everyone else and was not divine. Our Father, who art in heaven, and Jesus are divine. Teaching that Adam is the Father is complete heresy and comes from false religions. Amen.
