I Will Never Forget Thy Precepts

“I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me. I am thine, save me: for I have sought thy precepts. The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.” (Psalm 119:93-95)

As Christians, we have many enemies who eagerly await our downfall. Because they don’t like what we have to say about Jesus, many people get upset and say terribly things about us. Some people hate us so much in that we are killed because of our faith in Jesus. However, every believer in Jesus can find true peace. This is because God is with them. Those that persecute us will be judged that much harshly by the Lord, our God. As we live each day for the Lord, we trust more and more in God’s Word, as it becomes a shield against danger. Instead of being overwhelmed by external forces that seek our destruction, we go to God in prayer, and He is able to help us. Therefore, we fix our eyes upon the Lord, that He might give us the wisdom we need in times of need. We seek after God’s precepts, as the world embraces things that are evil. We are transformed by the Word of God and are on the path to salvation. Other people in this world are on a path of destruction. Embracing God’s instructions has spiritual and real-life implications on how we interact with others.

“I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.” (Psalm 119:96-98)

It is important to appreciate God’s commandments. Only then can we be for the Lord and walk in His ways and not our own. This changes how we live each day and interact with others. We come to an understanding of our limitations and imperfections in worldly pursuits. This compels us to turn to God and live for Him. We then become passionate about listening to God’s instructions and doing what He says. Knowing God and His laws for mankind is very good for our soul. Living for the Lord is not a burdensome, but our true source of fulfillment. By meditating on God’s Word each day we are able to immerse ourselves in divine wisdom and understanding. Through obeying God’s commandments, we become wiser than our enemies. Aligning one’s actions with God’s laws provides us protection against our adversaries. Living according to divine wisdom grants us an advantage over those who are opposed to righteousness. Our role as believers is to seek God first and His wisdom through the Bible and prayer. We embrace what God has to teach us. Amen.
