The most wicked and awful Biblical translation out there is the “Joseph Smith Translation”. This is because it isn’t even a translation from ancient manuscripts but a rewrite of the King James Bible. You heard that right. Joseph Smith took the plain and precious truths that are within the Bible and changed it to his liking. If this is not the fruit of a false prophet, I don’t know what to think. See for yourself. The byu.edu site reports that “Joseph Smith, the first prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, made a “new translation” of the Bible, using the text of the King James Version (KJV). This work differs from the KJV in at least 3,410 verses and consists of additions, deletions, rearrangements, and other alterations that cause it to vary not only from the KJV but from other biblical texts.” (Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible (JST)) And in today’s message, I will give you an example of how Joseph changed the Book of Revelation. See below for the changes…
Revelation 12:7-9 (KJV)
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 12:6-9 (Joseph Smith Translation)
6. 7And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought against Michael.
7. 8And the dragon prevailed not against Michael, neither the child nor the woman, which was the church of God, who had been delivered of her pains and brought forth the kingdom of our God and his Christ.
8. 9Neither was there place found in heaven for the great dragon, who was cast out—that old serpent called the devil and also called Satan, which deceiveth the whole world, he who was cast out into the earth.
9. And his angels were cast out with him.
Notice how in verse 7 the following is added: “fought against Michael.” Then in verse 8, the following is added, “the dragon” and “against Michael, neither the child nor the woman, which was the church of God, who had been delivered of her pains and brought forth the kingdom of our God and his Christ.” This is not a grammatical change as you will see words bolded in verse 8. When words and phrases are introduced into the Biblical text, this is when the teachings of men are added, which corrupts God’s Word in every way. Speaking of a person changing the Bible willfully, we know that there will also be plagues from God upon this person. This includes having their name removed from the Book of Life, where if your name is not written in this book, that means the lake of fire is their final destination. Where does this put Joseph Smith? In Hell awaiting judgement, where he will be cast into the lake of fire. If you do not believe me, believe what the Bible says below…
“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:18-19)
“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:12-15)
