Mormons Teach: Read The Book Of Mormon Daily

Who would lead people away from reading the Bible and to reading other books? It is Satan. What about other books that claim to be scripture but are not? It is Satan. What we see in Mormonism fulfills this in every way. Their false prophets do not tell their members to read the Bible daily but instead their Book of Mormon. It was their current prophet that said, “my dear brothers and sisters, I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions—every day. I promise that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions and direction for your own life. I promise that as you daily immerse yourself in the Book of Mormon, you can be immunized against the evils of the day, even the gripping plague of pornography and other mind-numbing addictions” (Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2017, 62–63) So what we see is church leaders pointing people to read some other book outside the Bible. No wonder why Mormons believe what they do, since they don’t test their beleifs with the Bible, let alone know what it says.

So are their sermons about reading the Bible daily like that of the Book of Mormon? No. It isn’t be found, and know that I have searched. This importance of reading the Bible on a daily basis isn’t even taught. Just look at another teaching addressed from their prophet. “It is not just that the Book of Mormon teaches us truth, though it indeed does that. It is not just that the Book of Mormon bears testimony of Christ, though it indeed does that, too. But there is something more. There is a power in the book which will begin to flow into your lives the moment you begin a serious study of the book. You will find greater power to resist temptation. You will find the power to avoid deception… and nowhere is that more true than it is of the Book of Mormon.” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Ezra Taft Benson [2014], 141) Again, God’s Word, the Bible, is missing. It might be part of their quad, but they have never seen it in the same light as their precious Book of Mormon. From the beginning the importance of reading the Bible has been on low regard. Only people I know that try to read it are missionaries in their church, so that they can better talk to Christians. After the mission, this desire goes down the tube.

This is the exact opposite of what Christians do, as the Bible is importance to us. And I quote, “there are three things that if we do them, our spiritual life in Christ will increase more than you would ever believe. Those things are reading the Bible daily, praying often, and serving God. Reading God’s word will help us gain a real understanding of God and then know how to do His will later on, not our own desires that come from our wicked hearts. We will gain important wisdom from God, not man, that we can take throughout our lives and grow in the faith daily because of it.” (Read The Bible Daily And Pray Often, Paul Gee, September 21, 2020) What you just read is a part of one message out of hundreds when it comes to the importance of reading the Bible daily. David also said this about God’s Word and the importance of knowing and understand it. “How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:103-15) My friends, don’t listen to Mormons or their church leaders. They are leading people away from God and His Word. Amen.
