We need to be a witness of the truth to others. We need to be an example to unbelievers and with those that have lost their faith. Our lives should reflect the love we have for Jesus. If someone we know is living a life of sin counsel with them. If a family member has sinned against you talk with them. If a brother is addicted to drugs explain the need to clean up their act and get right with God. If a sister is sleeping around with a boyfriend explain the importance of living a moral life in order to return to God. If a child is accessing inappropriate websites then filter their web browsing and show them sites that lead them to Christ. Let the Spirit guide you in what to say. Speak with love and boldness. Focus your conversation on Jesus’s love. Share His message of forgiveness and mercy. Tell them the He loves them and is longing for their return. The Lord will be so grateful as we counsel with our family. He will help you know what to say the more you seek Him.
When those in our family aren’t listening to our counsel we should seek others in the faith to talk with them. The Lord says that “by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established”. Our Church leaders can also be of great assistance. They are very wise and can give great counsel to those that have lost their way. As needed we should seek other people’s guidance when family members have gone astray. We need to always be in prayer with God so that we will know when it is right to get different people involved. Sometimes we just need to give things time. I love my family and desire that they may all be saved in God’s kingdom. If any are lost I will seek the Spirit and witness God’s truths to them. I will listen to the voice of truth. It is only through Jesus that we can be fulfilled. I will share His truth to all my family that they may be saved.
15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.
16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’
17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.
18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
