When we are living for Jesus, we are careful to not allow wicked things in our lives. We hate the work of those who willfully sin but love the sinner. These same sinful actions will not be a part of who we are in Christ. People who are contrary to God’s Word we can witness to them, but only if the Holy Spirit advises. Many people speak evil of me all knowing that this will happen while in the faith. Those who are proud in their own eyes are not likely to hear what we tell them, so, talking to them can be a waste of time, lest the Holy Spirit says differently. David spoke of this and wrote, “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person. Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.” (Psalm 101:3-5) God’s Word has spoken. Amen.
God’s eyes are upon those who are faithful to Him. These are those whom He dwells with. In their own eyes, they are simply God’s servants, but in the Lord’s eyes, they are made perfect in His presence. On the other hand, those who willfully deceive people, knowing they have been warned, God is not with them. They are not on God’s side and are not His servants also. Come death, there is destruction in hell for the wicked. Lastly, David wrote, “mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.” (Psalm 101:6-8) If you are not currently saved and are walking in the ways of the world, then confess and forsake your sins before God today. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray for Christians in this dark and dreary world we live in. Everywhere we look, if it is on TV, there are scantily clad women in commercials, on TV, and in movies. Sex scenes are now the norm in these shows, along with homosexuality being normalized and seeing same-sex couples kiss and more. Thankfully, You have taught me a lesson when it comes to TVs and I am limited to only a few hours a week on it. And if I do turn it on, I am seeking to watch something that would bring me closer to You, not the opposite. God, I truly wish people would pay attention to the music lyrics on the radio and music streaming services. If people say they love You, then they are also willing to cut out of their lives any kind of music that would drive away the Holy Spirit. Lord, my life has changed just by cutting out TV, movies, and music that doesn’t help me spiritually. I love to watch ministry videos now and listen to Christian music. Your presence is near and I want You in my life daily. I love You, Jesus. Be ever with me, Lord. Amen.
Even though we live in a world where evil is all around us, so can be uplifting hymns and preaching from God’s Word. It’s a choice.
