Come and commune with the Lord God today. Make Your supplications known before Him. God is so anxious to hear from You. If you desire to be happy in life, then you know where to turn. If you desire joy that is unworldly, then You know where to turn. If you desire peace that is beyond your understanding, then You know where to turn. Jesus is here to supply these needs for our lives. He also freely forgives us when we call upon His Name in our prayers and confessions. This is when we are sincere and God knows we really need Him. You see, with God in our lives we are cleansed from all our sins, for Jesus’s blood has covered us. We can walk in this wicked world and sin not while offering works of righteousness towards God and His kingdom. David also said, “but know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.” (Psalm 4:3-5) Before you go to bed tonight, open up the Bible and read. Pray that You will gain wisdom as you read. As you commune with the Lord, know that He wants to help you also, so confess those sins and he will help you. His mercy is for you.
Although we live in a world that doesn’t understand the need for God, we understand this need very well, for His light is shining upon us daily. His countenance is smiling upon His people in this wicked and perverse generation. Although many people have left the faith, the elect of God has continued forth even stronger in the faith than ever before. There is gladness in our hearts. We wake up and give thanks to God for another day to serve Him and to have breath. Throughout the day we seek His hand through Bible study, prayer, and doing His will as it is in heaven. His commandments for our lives do so much good and we give God thanks for helping us through them. Then, as we go to sleep, we rest in the Lord. His peace is over us. David said, “there be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:6-8) One day we will all die. Our loved ones will then lay our bodies down, but our spirits will already be separated and gone to paradise to be with the Lord Jesus. There will be no more sorrow, pain, or death. Amen.
Let us pray:
Lord, please help my family and my friends. I know that many of them have either not found Your path yet or have strayed from it. I have tried to be a light unto them, but I am only one person and it is hard to find other Christians speaking so plainly about their faith in this wicked world. Why is it, God, that it is shunned in so many households to even speak about You? How is it that people think that it will cause arguments to form when we bring up the name of “Jesus”. To these people, I pray that they will look deep into their souls and know that they are the ones in error. Because they have not found You yet, they have also caused others to keep their mouth shut when it comes to sharing their faith. But I love these people still. They are dear to my heart and You know exactly who they are. Help me to reach them individually for Your kingdom, although it may be hard to do collectively. Make these occasions possible. I would love to see more of my loved ones on earth go to heaven. It would be heartbreaking to know that many of them did not make it. So God, give these people an urgency to get right with You while they still have breath. I am grateful for Your peace and joy. I can go to sleep and know that You are with me. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
Amen! We should always thank God for each day because each new day is one more chance to repent and get it right. We should shun sin as much as possible and try our best to do as a style of life the will of the Father. We should not willfully sin but instead live for God. This wat we are saved in heaven.
