The question Mormons need to think about is this. Has God always been God, meaning unchangeable, or has He evolved to Godhood through exaltation? Their Book of Mormon states that God has always been God. It reads, “For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and in him there is no variableness neither shadow of changing?” (Mormon 9:9) “And if there were miracles wrought then, why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being? And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles.” (Mormon 9:19) However, Joseph Smith taught something entirely different, which would make God to cease according to the Book of Mormon, since he became a God, once being a man. He wrote, “God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens! That is the great secret. If the veil were rent today, and the great God who holds this world in its orbit, and who upholds all worlds and all things by his power, was to make himself visible.” (The King Follett Discourse) This doctrine contradicts the Book of Mormon and the Bible.
The Bible is made crystal clear about the type of God we know and worship. Our Lord and God is from everlasting to everlasting. He has always existed and will continue to live forever. David wrote, “Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.” (Psalm 90:1,2) Jesus is that God, of whom the Father has always been with. Out of the mouth of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, He said, “and he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.” (Revelation 21:5,6) To be called the beginning and the end makes exaltation to Godhood impossible. Therefore, I ask every person that is part of the “Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints” to renounce this false belief of exaltation to Godhood and resign from their cult today. There is only one God in the heavens as the Bible teaches. He has been God from the beginning of time. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will help Mormons come to the truth of what Your Word, the Bible teaches. Open their eyes to what it really says through the power of the Holy Spirit. All it takes is a person who is willing to learn from You to also come out of their false ways. We do this in order to know You. I am grateful for the day, 10 years ago, when I renounced Mormonism once and for all. I had seen enough of their false teachings and idolatry, that it made me feel terrible inside when I entered their church buildings. All I had to hear was one more false teaching or worship and I was out of there. Thankfully, they played “Praise To The Man” and I fled from the scene. I truly could not get on my feet fast enough in order to flee from the sight of evil. Lord, how is it that these people can worship a man that has died and is now in hell? Truly, Joseph Smith started a cult and is now paying for His crimes in hell. If I could just get on the housetops and proclaim this important truth to the people in my neighborhood, city, and state, I would. Lord, I love my Mormon neighbors. They are so lost, but I cannot help but lead as many as I can out of the fire and to Your marvelous light. I love You, Jesus. I give You praise! Amen.
