As Christians, we are not like people who are of the world but are separate. If this has not happened in your life yet, then you need to repent and get right with the Lord today. Only then will God say that you are His people. And as gentiles, you will be adopted in as sons and daughters. Paul wrote, “be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-16) Anybody who is living in willful sin is not God’s people. However, if a person hates the appearance of evil and repents when they do fall, they are God’s people. This type of faith makes us God’s child also as you will read next. The Lord God did create our spirits and our bodies, but to be called His son or daughter is much different.
After this life is all set and done, people will desire the same things they enjoyed on earth. So if it was porn, getting drunk, getting high, having sex outside of marriage, coveting, lusting after things and people, then they are not fit for God’s kingdom and will go to hell, lest they repent and get right with Him. Paul continued and said, “wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:17,18) As you just read, our faith in Jesus makes us different. The Holy Spirit is in us now and we are led in the ways of righteousness and holiness. Therefore, we are prepared to live forever with the Lord in heaven. We are made children of God on earth through faith. Now, in saying this, this puts to bed the false teachings out there that say that anybody who has ever lived is a child of God. Mormons teach that every person is a child of God which is false. Why do they teach this? Because they don’t have the Holy Spirit to understand the Bible. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that we all come out of the things of this world and live for You instead. It might be difficult for some people who are wrapped up in different addictions, but this is only true if they are trying to break free on their own terms and not with Your help. You have given me new desires that love what You love and hate what you hate. No person do I hate, but the evils of this world. Thank You, Lord, for changing me. All I desire now is to live in Your holiness and to no longer be infiltrated because of sinful things. Truly, willful sins have caused me to fall many times in my life, which I am very sorry. Thankfully, You did not give up on me when You very well could have. You extended my life to where I am today. Am I perfect now? No. But am I living for You? Yes. Lord, have Your way in my life. Lead me in Your holiness and righteousness. I want less of me and more of You in my life. I may not have always been called Your child in the past, but I am so glad You call me Your child now. I don’t deserve to be Your son, but Your mercy is far greater than the sins in my past. I trust in You, God. I love You, Lord. Amen.
