If someone tells you that every person in Christ’s church has to have the gift of tongues to be born again, they have not read or understand what 1 Corinthians, chapter 12, says. It is important to not make things up when it comes to the giftings of the Spirit, but instead, believe what the Bible actually says on this matter. As we will read in a minute, there are many different gifts of the Spirit, but each person in the faith receives different gifts from God. Not the same gifts, for God is able to use different people for different things in His church. We are Jesus’s hands and feet. Jesus is the head of the body of the church and we are His members. All working for the glory of God and His kingdom, which is in us. Paul said, “now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-7) God truly wants to work in our lives.
So you may wonder what the spiritual giftings are from God and what your gifting may be. Here is the list. The gift of wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, and the interpretation of tongues. The spiritual giftings are different, but they work as one with God. Paul said, “for to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” (1 Corinthians 12:8-11) It is important to be seeking the Lord, our God, on a daily basis through reading the Bible and praying often. Then, will He begin to use you for His kingdom and different spiritual giftings will be made evident in your life. Just remember to act on these promptings.

Oh Lord, I pray that each believer in You will at least be given one of the giftings of the Spirit. I know this will mean that their heart is truly for You and not the world. I know many people who are filled with the Holy Spirit and giftings of faith, healing, and tongues are manifested in their lives. This is so awesome to see that a friend in the faith is living their life to serve you. I may have different gifts of the Spirit like wisdom, faith, and healing, but these same gifts are for Your glory also. I simply give You thanks for working in my life and for not withholding the gifts I have now. All I ask, God, is that You use me for Your kingdom. My place in this world is living for You. I want to be used by You and not anything or anybody else. There is structure in my life and my marriage, and the relationship with my wife and kids depends upon this. If I am not seeking You, then there is turmoil, arguments, and fights. But with you in my family’s life, there is peace, joy, and love. Thank You for Lord. All I hope for is that Your Spirit will continue with me and my family. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
