As the day began, Luis and I decided to hand out tracts at Ross, while we waited for Patrick’s plane to arrive. It was there that we stayed for about 2 hours giving out gospel tracts, Bibles, and praying. I got so excited as people were coming in and out of the store and didn’t want any one person to not hear about Jesus. Therefore, many people received a gospel tract and a young man received a Bible with much joy. The sad thing is a person complained about us and the store supervisor came outside to talk with us. We were then told that being on the sidewalk was store property, so if we wished to stick around we needed to go out on the Staples side or in the parking lot. So we obliged and moved off of the sidewalk and onto the part of road where the sidewalk meets it. Then, we continue as before, telling everybody we can about Jesus, while asking them if they wanted prayer. One such Hispanic couple said they did need prayer. How their children went astray as they got older and was praying for their return to God. This we prayed for, Luis in Spanish, and then me in English. At that point, the lady was in tears. I left them with telling them about my devotional site and to stay strong in their faith in Jesus.
As the day continued, we picked up Patrick and went to temple square. At this point, Patrick met a man named Santiago and began witnessing to him. I joined in and we both asked him if he had ever been born again, and he said no, but was desirous to be. So Patrick prayed that God would fill him with the Holy Spirit. I then led him in a prayer of salvation. He was so excited to start living for God. Even the last many months since COVID hit, he has decided to start reading the Bible for himself as a Catholic. Doing this, he said that verses began to jump off the pages. And he was so convicted of sin at this point and the things of God, he knew that the Catholic church was no longer right for him. At this point, we helped him understand that only Jesus saves and not religion. How finding a good Bible believing church is important, but will come as time goes on. He mentioned his kids who are not believers, and I said that they would begin to see the light of Jesus in his light. This would help them return to God when their hearts are eventually softened. As we left him, I showed him how to access my devotional site as an app. I then told him that I hoped he would find the contact page and stay in touch with us.
It is written, “I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.” (Psalm 81:10-12) God did speak through us as we opened our mouths this day. No matter if certain people like Victoria, who is a homosexual, didn’t like our message of hope, this didn’t stop our preaching. The moment I saw her I noticed the way she and her friends dressed that they were part of the LGBTQ movement. This was very apparent. So I began preaching on homosexuality. How this is a sin against God like fornication, adultery, and lust is. This got her and her friends attention and she began talking to me and Patrick. At this point, we tried to help her understand how there are only two genders, male and female. That since the beginning of time, man and woman came together in marriage, and anything else is an abomination to God as Romans, chapter 1, reads. We must have talked to her for about an hour. Praise God for the time with her and other people we talked to also. To be God be the glory. Amen.
Let us pray:
Thank You Lord, for this day. We could not have reached all the people we did if You were not with us. Truly, You were leading us today like in times past. All that has changed are the people that are with Patrick and I, which is Luis this time. Thank You for His desire to join us. Because of His desire to be with us we were able to reach many people today. You opened each one of our mouths when we were preaching and talking to individual people. Even when I was speaking an overflow of preaching and teaching began from the Bible about current issues we are dealing with in the world like the LGBTQ, abortion, and most importantly Mormonism. I was able to hit the high points with no fear or intimidation because I opened my mouth and You were filling it. You made me strong to do things I am incapable of doing on my own. I also saw this with Patrick and Luis. We give You thanks for all the people reached at the store, the people we prayed with, the people we witnessed to, all those who received gospel tracks and more. It was very fruitful today because You were with us. Thank You, Lord. We love You. Amen.
