There is hope after Mormonism. Out of love and respect, I want you to know that after a person leaves that faith behind, there is a much better path ahead of them in Christ Jesus. Where grace is given freely to those who believe in Christ alone. There will be trials, but in those trials, God will be with that person along the way, while giving them peace and rest. Sure, there is the fear of a spouse divorcing them if they leave the church. Others in the family and even friends may stop communicating with them for some time. This is because of new tensions that are in the air because of their departure from the church. Sure, people may start calling them up, sending the bishop, elders, and missionaries to their homes. But all this is worth it. It may not seem this way in the beginning, but the day that we leave what is false behind for Christ’s sake is when salvation does come. Yes, this is so true. No matter the trials or persecutions a person faces after they repent, because God is leading them now, everything is made clear in our minds. Think of it this way. It might seem more comfortable or easy to just stay in the Mormon faith, but will it be worth it when Jesus says that you chose to follow men instead of Him? The answer is that it will not be worth it. My friends, just because something seems like it would be less intrusive upon our lives, it doesn’t mean that it is what we should continue in.
Many people have weighed the decision of staying in the Mormon faith or leaving it and have chosen to just stay in it, in order to not get a divorce, lose their family, or friends in the Mormon faith. But them doing this is only digging themselves a bigger hole in the afterlife. This is because once a person knows in their heart that something is wrong and doesn’t leave it behind, this is when they become even more accountable to God than others. Jesus said, “the lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” (Luke 12:46-48) As Jesus taught, if we die or see Jesus in the Second Coming, without having repented beforehand, we will be found guilty on judgment day, which means the lake of fire. Now, before I end this message, just think about your life for a minute. Did you know that God has greater things in store for you? He sure does, but only to whom will leave everything to follow Him.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will make a choice to follow You and not men. Many of these people are false teachers and are only out to deceive us. My family has even fallen into believing the lies of Mormonism, of which deeply troubles my soul. Yes, I am thankful that You have led me out of that cult once and for all, but now I wish to know how to lead my family members out also. I am afraid that most of them have hearts and minds that are closed off to anything that is not taught in Mormonism. Even if the Bible says something a certain way, they would rather trust in their prophets instead of Your words. This is very disheartening. But I know that with You doing the work, any person can be rescued from the evil one. How this can happen, only You know. I just pray that there will be more and more opportunities to witness to my own family who are lost. I give You thanks for a few weeks back when You allowed me to talk to my sister and her family, who are Mormon, for a few hours. The time with them was wonderful. Because the Holy Spirit was in the room, I was able to talk with each of them with love and respect. There were no arguments, for Your love filled the atmosphere. I don’t know what has happened since that discussion, but I pray that one day their hearts will be more softened to know You. All I desire is to lead people to follow You, Jesus. I love You. Amen.
