The book of Daniel, chapter 12, speaks of our time. He says that in the last days there will be so much trouble upon the earth that has never been seen before. And what can you say that you have never seen before in your lifetime? Well, for me it is the enforcement of wearing masks, in order to enter businesses and purchase what we need in stores, fast food restaurants, and other places. Even our work requires it. Because of this pandemic, the state of fear is upon the rise like never before. Some people don’t even want to go outside anymore because of the fear that is in their hearts. Surely, this year of the Coronavirus/COVID-19, has been crazy for the economy and people at work. Even I am among the millions of people who are now unemployed and cannot find jobs. Right now the total cases for the Coronavirus is 13,235,751, while the total amount of deaths is 575,525. The number of cases and deaths have been increasing at an alarming rate since March 22. However, as Christians we have no need to fear, for Jesus is returning soon, and when He does, all His Saints will be caught up in the air with Him. And when this happens, we can be assured that our name is written in the book of life and that we are saved. Even people who are dead will rise up into everlasting life with us. However, the wicked will be punished, while suffering in the lake of fire forever. This is all found in this chapter, which we will read next.
Daniel wrote, 1“and at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” (Daniel 12:1-4) 1“Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” (Daniel 12:10) Wow, this prophecy is surely about the time we are living in now. Now, one thing you may not know is that when this is all over and we are finally with the Lord forever in heaven, those that are found to be wise will shine like the sky above. Where people who brought people to know Jesus, will shine as bright as the stars themselves. This is surely amazing. However, the news is not great for the wicked. They will not understand what is happening and soon find themselves judged and found guilty in their sinful state.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will continue to seek You, even until their very last breath. Right now there is fear in the air because of the Coronavirus and I pray that You will help come into these people’s hearts and calm the atmosphere. People need Your peace in order to help them know that things can only get better if You are in control of their lives. We can try to weather the storms on our own, but we will continue to fall. We don’t have the strength, God, to live this life on our own. Therefore, breathe upon all Your saints Your Holy Spirit. Keep us righteous and holy, and upon Your path. Keep our eyes fixed upon the prize, which is heaven, and not what the world is offering. Lead us from temptation, that we may not fall victim to sin and turn out to be just like the unrighteous. Surely, there is eternal damnation prepared for the wicked, while everlasting life for every true believer. However, I fear that only a few people will be saved. That there will be more people who proclaim to be Christians not written in Your book of life. This really pains my soul just thinking this. I pray that people’s names are not blotted out of Your book because of their sins, but that people will cry out to You and forsake their sins before it is too late. It is not worth gaining some pleasure in life while being separated from You for all eternity. This would be awful. So Lord, thank You for leading me on Your righteous path. I know that I falter, but I desire more than ever to walk in Your holiness and be nothing like the world is. May Your ways always be my ways. I love You. Amen.
