Jesus is our Lord and our God. Holy is His Name. He is our refuge to those that seek His face above all things. As David said, 1“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear.” (Psalm 46:1,2) The Lord doesn’t ever ignore us, but is always with us, if we call upon His name in prayer. No matter what we are going through God knows all about it, and just cares that we want His help. In fact, He always has His arms wide open to receive us. You would know this to be true if God has done a miracle in your life, where nothing else could help. You could have been struggling with some sort of addiction, and tried all kinds of avenues for help, but nothing was helpful in the long term. Instead, you fell again and again because of the lusts of your flesh. Surely, your heart was seared because of the wickedness that was in your life, and the guilt was heavy. But then everything changed. The day that you sought the Lord in prayer, He heard your cries and had mercy for your soul. This led to a cleansing like no other. Even your desires were changed to no longer seek after the same things as before. And only God could do this for you then as He can do for you now, like He is doing for me every day of my life. Surely, I am weak without the Lord God in my life, but very strong indeed, when He is with me, guiding my path. Surely, there is nothing like having the Lord’s help in our lives.
There are so many great and mighty things the Lord can do in the lives of those that believe in Him. We are not alone, but have His mighty presence to bear us up at all times. There is nothing the Lord God can’t pull us through and give us a way to escape, as long as Jesus is in our hearts at all times. He is our Lord, our Savior, and our Redeemer. There is no one like Him. Surely, 1“He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” (Psalm 46:9-11) Though the enemy desires to take us down in this life and into hell with Him, the Lord God has our hands when we seek and obey Him, and will not let us fall. He is our shelter and no temptation is too strong for his mighty hands to tear down, if we but trust in Him. Now please understand one very important thing and that is God is victorious in the fight against evil. There will still be struggles, but as we trust in Jesus there is victory in His holy Name. Sure, at times we may forget Him, but the day that we call upon His name again, he is ready to take us back, no questions asked. All our sins are then forgiven and His blood covers us. Surely, there is no one like our God. How great is His mercy and grace for sinners like us?
Let us pray:
Lord, I pray that people of all ages will come to know You personally. May they come to understand that great and mighty are Your works and what You can do for them is limitless. Surely, there is no bounds to the spiritual gifts You can give them, because they love You and want to know You through their actions, and not only words. This is what I hope more people will be doing, for then will they experience the greatest joy of all, which is eternal love and happiness from above. You have the power alone to make lives whole again. You can take every vile addiction from our lives and replace them with good and holy desires. Even our sins can be forgiven, because of what You did, Jesus, on the cross. Thank you Lord. In the past, we were selfish in our own ambitions, but through Your mighty hand, all our selfishness is torn out of our lives and replaced with selflessness. Instead of wanting more and more, in order for the flesh to be satisfied, we now want to show more and more of Your love to others, that they may find satisfaction. It is true Lord, that the more I give to those in need, witness to people, and pray with people, that my joy increases. It is in Your service that I find the joy I’ve always been looking for. Nothing in this world can please my soul like You can God. For this reason, I pray that there will be more of Your desires in my heart and less of mine. I love You more than anything in this life, God. Amen.
