Jesus is my first love. He has my heart, my mind, my soul, and my life. He is my shelter in the storm. Nobody can take me places that have true meaning like He can. Everything else in life has a time stamp on it, of when that person’s love will stop forever or for a time, but God’s love never fails. There is no end to His love and what He will do for my life and any person that puts their trust in Him. So often do people let us down and their love dries up, while the Lord’s love is never ending. He continues to show up in our lives, when others have let us down and left us in tears. We can’t ever fully understand why people treat us the way they do, but there is peace and comfort found in the Lord. Sometimes, we just want the same love shown back in return from parents, brothers, sisters, our spouse, and our kids, but so often that cannot be found, so only God’s love and other people in the faith’s love is able to supply our needs and help us carry on. How good would it be to receive a real hug from someone we love, but since it cannot be found, God gives it in return. It would also be great to hear someone say back in return that they love you also, but that is hard to find and only God is able to supply this need at all times. I often wonder why people we thought loved us desert us and aren’t willing to show the same love we want to show to them, but all I can say is this is a part of every person’s life. Sometimes we just got to trust in God for continued strength, in order to endure these hardships in life. We all have to deal with people going cold on us, at different times in life, this is where God will help us figure things out. Our continued relationship with God is what will push us through these hard times. Otherwise, life will be hard. So continue in prayer always.
Do we have to live a life of sadness while in this life? The answer is no. However, many people do live like this and even cry themselves to sleep at night. This is because their trust is in their manmade relationships, where God is lacking. I am not saying that relationships with people are bad, but when they fail, there must be something else that keeps us going strong, and that is God. If it wasn’t for my Lord, and my God, I would surely feel depressed instead. However, because He is continually with me, there is no sadness, but gladness. He bears my burdens and lifts me up. Because the Lord is my bride, I have a great relationship with Him and 1“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13) Surely, the Lord is my life and my strength. If He was not the meaning of my life, things would be a lot different now and a lot harder to manage. I would not be able to be a witness for Him, if the Lord God was not carrying me forward. I am safe, because He is with me. Because Jesus died for my sins on the cross, there is a new outlook to my life. I have hope and a new meaning to what I am able to do in life. His forgiveness and mercy is what drives all that I can do for Him and not the world. This is what I love most about God, is that He doesn’t keep things that I do wrong against me. The moment that I repent, I am cleansed by the blood of Jesus. This is the love that keeps me going in life. If Jesus is your driving force also, then your tears will soon dry up and turn into gladness. Trust in the Lord and all things will work out for the good. He will help you mend a broken relationship, while showcasing His great love for you both. It takes two to give their lives to Christ, for a marriage to also flourish and love return. Please know this to be true.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that Your love will enter my family, my marriage, and my relationship with my children. I know that my life for You is strong, and the same goes for Your love for me, but somehow the love in my marriage is not as alive as it should be. The same can be said for my family and children. And I know that I have a part of this happening and I am sorry. May Your love strengthen me, through these hard times and lift me up. I wish for salvation in the lives of my immediate family, wife and my kids. May they one day know You, Lord, and follow in Your footsteps also. I know that I am not perfect, but only desire to do Your will. If a part of me is lacking and things aren’t going well in my relationships because of what I am doing, make it be known to me. Help me to know what is wrong, that things might get better over time. I just wish that my family would be with me, one day in heaven, after we all pass on in death. For this reason, do I try to point those I love to You, Jesus, ever day of my life. If that is changing what they are watching, and pointing them to a show that is uplifting and speaks of You, that is my desire. So much that is on TV now-a-days is only a trap and a lure to lead us away from Your love. For this reason, I’d rather shut it off all together and read Your Words in the Bible as a family. What You have said in scripture has meaning to my life and gives me hope, while the things on TV are only distractions. I love to spend time with You in Your Words and in prayer and I wish that one day my family would want to join me in worship to You also God. Your love is what keeps me going and I pray that this love will soon take over my family, spouse and children’s lives also. I love You Lord. Amen.
