All God asks of us is that we listen to Him and follow His counsel. By doing so, we will not be led astray by men or the devil. If the Lord is in our mind and in our hearts then we will not be led into dark paths that lead to destruction. It is the Lord God that leads us to everlasting life. 2Those that believe in the Lord Jesus are saved. These are those that are led away from the ways of the flesh. The Spirit of God takes hold of their lives and changes them from within. No longer does sin prevail but the ways of God takes over and leads them unto righteousness. It is when people remove God from their lives and replace Him with other things, do they stumble. When we have higher priorities then God and His Word, His direction cannot be found. If you are among these people, then listen to God when He says, 1“hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.” No longer be caught up in what feels right but do as God’s Word directs. Put down your own beliefs and learn a fresh with the Bible. Even God says, 1“I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.” It doesn’t matter what other people may teach, what the Word of God says is truth and if religious teaching goes against it, in any way, then it is untrue. It is important to be found trusting in God over man. Depending on who you follow, your salvation is at stake.
The only way we can know if we are on the right path or not is if we are reading the Bible and praying to God on a regular basis. For instance, If we have sinned, we will know where we’ve strayed and how to get back on the Lord’s side. This comes through learning what sin is and then confessing it, in order to be changed. Another reason to verify our current beliefs are in God and not a religion. It is important that we learn what is true and unlearn what is false. Through confiding in God and His Word, your beliefs will be conformed to Him and not what others teach. God says, 1“Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.” This is very important. We cannot enter heaven and live forever if we are not gaining understating from His Words. We also cannot expect to go to heaven, one day, if we breaking God’s commandments. That is why we must 1“get wisdom”, and understanding and 1“forget it not.” God says, 1“neither decline from the words of my mouth.” If He teaches you something, receive it freely. To gain wisdom from God is the principal goal in life. If you gain wisdom from the Lord, then you have true understanding. Come to God often, that His words are written on your heart. This way you will know the Lord and better and obey Him. Receive these things today, that you may follow the Lord.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I know that You are the source of true wisdom in life. I can gain understanding and enlightenment by coming to You in prayer and reading the Bible. I am grateful that I have come to You, as have learned so much already. Each day that I pray, my eyes are opened to new things I never thought of before. Even things I didn’t think made sense in the past. When reading Your Words, my heart is directed to follow Your will. My heart is changed and conformed to Your ways. My desires are to do what You say. Even if my beliefs are tested and found wrong, I will forsake them for Your cause. Thank You for showing me what is right and what is wrong. I am delighted to follow what is truth and remove what is false in my life. I need not be distracted in my desires to follow You, my Lord. Give me more understanding, every day of my life. Help me to choose what is right no matter the circumstance. Give me strength to follow You, no matter what. I know that You are the way to eternal life and I choose to follow You. I believe in You. I trust in You. Thank You for everything. I love You. Amen.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
