There is no greater time than now to share the good news of Jesus Christ. This world is full of darkness and the only thing that will bring light back into people’s hearts is Jesus. People can try many different avenues to find happiness but only one way leads to eternal joy in God’s kingdom. 2Our faith in Jesus is what’s necessary to enter heaven. God needs people willing to reach the lost. He desires that we trust in Him and witness His truths to the world. 1As I saw today, the harvest is ripe and many people are anxious to know God but there are so few Christians that are actually working in the harvest. Chris and I went out tonight to evangelize and it was fruitful.  We were able to talk to and pray over people but so many more lives could have been reached if we had more people involved. So many people aren’t being reached that could be. How can people just keep their belief in Jesus and all His goodness to themselves. How selfish would it be for me to discover the cure to cancer but not tell people. So many people would die unknowing that they could have been cured. The same goes with the gospel of Jesus Christ. As Christians, we have the privilege to find the way to heaven and that is through our Lord Jesus. Wouldn’t it be sad if someone we knew died and they didn’t believe in Jesus. We could have helped them discover the most amazing gift of the cross. We could have told them that there is forgiveness for sins through the blood of Jesus. Instead they died without God’s grace. Don’t let this happen and when you feel compelled to talk with people, just do it, and you will be blessed.
The seeds we plant through evangelism are so necessary. Even these gospel tracts I passed out tonight are important in reaching the lost. Though many people didn’t accept one, some did and were encouraged to follow the Lord. Each person we talk to that responds to the gospel is amazing indeed. These opportunities do come but don’t be encouraged if this doesn’t happen right away. Sometimes we have to talk to many people before a person responds kindly. Your time is not wasted. Through these many experiences much fruit can take place even by one person that comes to Christ. We can only pray that people come to know Jesus by what we share with them. I encourage you to let the Lord do things in your life that you aren’t particular comfortable with. If you are at least willing to put yourself out there for God then your weaknesses will become strong points. For instance, many years I would feast upon God’s Word and feel so encouraged to live a better life. However, I was so scared to share it. The time I said, Lord, have Your way in me. Lead me to do Your will. Is when I finally began to love my neighbor fully. My love for the homeless was increased along with those that are lost. At first, I’d be in a restaurant and see a homeless person and then be prompted to buy them food. Which I finally listened and did as God commanded. Then, I was prompted to share the gospel of Jesus with them, along with pray for them. As I started doing these things, my faith began to grow and my boldness to talk to people increased. I have developed a relationship with the Lord as I confided in Him to do His will. Follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit and your relationship with the Lord will grow.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that more people will read the Bible daily and pray with the intent to follow You. Help them to know longer keep Your truths to themselves. Take all our fears away and give us boldness to share the gospel with our family, friends and those around us. Lead us by the hand. Prompt us to know who is ready to hear the gospel. Give us a heart to feed the homeless and to care for their needs. Break our hearts to see them this way. Lord, help us love as You love us. Rip from our lives, feelings of selfishness. Give us words that we might speak. Give us boldness to do things that we may feel uncomfortable with. Use us weak vessels to do mighty things in Your kingdom. I praise You for all those people we were able to share the gospel with and pray for tonight. Only You could have helped us do such great things. Help us, Lord, to become stronger each day that we confide in You and do Your will. Have Your way in us and lead us to the lost. They are special to You and to us. We love You. Amen.
