When God blesses your life, trust in Him. When times seem hard don’t give into your fears. Even when things seem impossible, seek the Lord. Step out of your comfort zone and let Jesus lead you by the hand. He will protect you. Even though your situation may seem impossible without lying, there is always a way out. The voice of truth will help you know what to say. The Lord will deliver you out of any situation. There is freedom in the Lord. Listen and believe in the Lord, and you will have no fear. Abram gave into His fears after being richly blessed by the Lord. Because he feared for his life, he told the Pharaoh of Egypt that Sarai, his wife, was his sister. Even after praying to God and the Lord saying to him, “I will make you a great nation”, “I will bless those who bless you”, he was still afraid and lied. He didn’t trust that the Lord would help him out of the situation. He was following the Lord and still gave into his fears. He hadn’t fully trusted in the Lord. Abram’s wife almost committed adultery with the pharaoh because of his lie. His heart must have raced a thousand times over, worrying about his wife. This situation could have turned out much better if he just trusted in God. If we truly love God we will follow in His ways. If the Lord gives us a promise we can know for a surety that is true. He never backs out of His word.
How often have you told someone a lie because it was too hard to tell them the truth. You feared that friendship might be broken. You were fearful that you might hurt someone’s feelings. You thought the person wasn’t ready to hear the truth. There are many reasons why we lie. One thing I know for sure is that when I lie I never feel good inside. It plagues me throughout my day and week. My conscious cannot get it out my head. It always leads me to tell the person the real truth and that I’m sorry. Is it worth being plagued by your lies or better just to tell the truth? If you let the Lord guide what you say there will be less heartache and pain. People will be more understanding. The Lord will be with you and uphold you. How important it is to come to the Lord often in prayer. We should be equipped by the Word of God daily. That when moments arise to share His message we will be ready. Stand up for what you believe in. Live to be like Jesus. He commanded, “Do not bear false witness”. We need to live differently than the unbelievers. If a moment arises where the truth is needed, give it. It will be well with you as your day goes on. You will feel better about yourself and with God. We have nothing to fear when the Lord is in our life. Choose this day to follow the voice of Jesus. Listen to Him and abide in His ways.
Genesis 12:10-20
10 Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to dwell there, for the famine was severe in the land.
11 And it came to pass, when he was close to entering Egypt, that he said to Sarai his wife, “Indeed I know that you are a woman of beautiful countenance.
12 Therefore it will happen, when the Egyptians see you, that they will say, ‘This is his wife’; and they will kill me, but they will let you live.
13 Please say you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that I may live because of you.”
14 So it was, when Abram came into Egypt, that the Egyptians saw the woman, that she was very beautiful.
15 The princes of Pharaoh also saw her and commended her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house.
16 He treated Abram well for her sake. He had sheep, oxen, male donkeys, male and female servants, female donkeys, and camels.
17 But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.
18 And Pharaoh called Abram and said, “What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?
19 Why did you say, ‘She is my sister’? I might have taken her as my wife. Now therefore, here is your wife; take her and go your way.”
20 So Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him; and they sent him away, with his wife and all that he had.
