A Deep Trust In God’s Protection

“Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood. Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies.” (Psalm 119:117-119)


It is important to develop a deep trust in God’s protection. Only then will we obtain an unwavering commitment to His commandments. It is only through God’s support and guidance that we can find true safety for the soul. By seeking refuge in the statutes of God, we better understand His path. How it is straight, and full of light and purity from on High. It is free from the pitfalls of every deceitful way of the devil. Therefore a person that is Christ Jesus is also covered by His blood and made clean. These same people are protected by God and can escape the evils of homosexuality, pornography, fornication, adultery, drunkenness, covetousness, lying, stealing, idolatry, and more. We may be tempted, but seeking God first on a daily basis makes these temptations that much easier to overcome. This is because, our first reaction to the presentation of evil, is being appalled by it. The things listed above may have easily taken us over without a hitch, but we are born again and can more easily resist.

It is important to understand God’s ultimate justice and righteousness. This is because those who deviate from God and His ways will ultimately face His wrath. People must understand that every deceitful way will crumble under the weight of truth. Falsehood cannot stand against the power of God and His Word. Every wicked way will be removed like dross once Jesus returns, leaving only purity in its wake. Are people ready to receive the Lord when in His return. The answer is only few. We live in a world where deception is very enticing. Evil is often stood for good and what is good is trampled upon. Therefore, evil is prevailing in the hearts of the wicked. In these trying times, we are reminded to steadfastly cling to God in prayer, Bible study, and in doing His will. This our guideposts amidst the chaos in this world. God offers light when darkness threatens to consume us. You can find comfort as you stay grounded in God’s Word. We are given divine protection and the peace of God. Amen.
