I Have Longed After Thy Precepts

As for the wicked, God reprimands them as they walk in darkness and willful sin. He is very disappointed in people who once walked in His light and no longer do. They knew His judgments are good, but now they have fallen on the opposite end with God and those same judgments are upon them. As for God’s chosen, they long to know and obey God’s laws, for the Lord means everything to them. To be led in His righteousness is what they desire. This way they are not led down a road that is led by our flesh, but by the Holy Spirit. We have sinned and ask God to be merciful towards us. To save us from the wrath to come. Jesus’s blood was shed for our sins and we ask Him to cover them now. To be led by His hands and what the Bible says. I will obey the Lord. David said, “turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good. Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness. Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word.” (Psalm 119:39-41)

As God calls, I will answer Him. Not just listen but do what He says. This way as people come my way, I will know what to say. With the Holy Spirit in me, nothing is impossible. Even God’s Words will flow from my mind and through my mouth as I speak. Because I love and obey God and His laws, I am able to declare His judgments to people that are lost. It brings me so much hope just to know that I am on God’s path and that He is leading me. Surely, I have no fear come death, for God will take me safely home in paradise. For this reason, I will continue to follow Jesus till the end of this life and the next. Lastly, David said, “so shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word. And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments. So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.” (Psalm 119:42-44) Now go in peace. Have an open mind towards God, so that He may become Your teacher and place you on a path of righteousness. All hail King Jesus. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I love Your ways. Lighten up my life this day and forever. This world is full of darkness, but with more people who follow You, the darkness will scatter. People will see Your light in us and begin to ask questions. This is what the world needs. People who are unafraid of Your gospel message and will declare it. God, give us wisdom so that we will know what to say. We are grateful that You have come into our lives and rescued us from the condemnation of sin and death. If our hearts are set upon what is righteous and holy, You have done it. If we have been rescued from our lustful passions and addictions, You have done it. We are incapable of escaping the temptations of the devil on our own. You are our fortress and our high tower, a God of mercy and forgiveness. I live for You, Lord, not what the world offers. God, be with us. Protect us from the enemy and help us stay true to Your Word. I pray for the salvation of thousands more people who are lost and headed to hell. Save them, Lord. I love You. Amen.
