Our Refuge In Times Of Trouble

The truth of the matter is that Christians will not always prosper but will go through many trials and persecutions in this life that are very difficult to go through. This includes sickness, that includes chronic diseases, deaths in the family, job losses, financial issues, people who treat them badly because of their beliefs, and much more. When we follow Jesus, he never said it would be easy, but worth it in the end. When this life is finished, we will receive our just rewards. So if we are in trouble now, call upon His Name and He will comfort you. His peace is beyond our understanding. David wrote, “The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.” (Psalm 9:9-11) Praise the Lord, for He is so good to us. His mercy endureth forever. Follow Jesus today!

If you are sincere in your faith, then God knows. He also knows of your humility and how you put your trust in him. When you cry out to God He is listening and will have mercy upon your souls also. We all sin and when His followers do it does sting. However, He is able to reconcile us once again into His fold because of patience and enduring love for us. Allow your tears to flow in your confessions to God, even if it means falling to the ground, while asking God for forgiveness. It is written, “when he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble. Have mercy upon me, O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death: That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.” (Psalm 9:12-14) And we rejoice in our salvation also. Praise God, for because of Jesus and His death on the cross we are saved. His love is real. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, hear my cries this day. As you know, I am not perfect. I have done many things that I am not happy with. But look upon my heart now and know that I am sincere when it comes to following You. Life’s pleasures that include the lusts of the flesh are enticing, but doing Your will means more to me now than anything else. Forgive me of my sins, God, and lead me from temptation. If the devil and his demonic forces are ever close to me or my family, I ask that they will flee in the name of Jesus. I know that they can keep us in bondage when it comes to chronic pain and sickness. If anything like this happens, make Your presence known in order for true healing to take place in my life. Lord, I trust in Your healing power, for I have seen it on display for other people I’ve prayed for time and time again. You have never stopped caring for people in need. And now I am in need of Your healing. Heal my body and soul. I love You, Jesus. I trust in You, God. You deserve the glory. Amen.
